New Years Eve Makeup
A little New Years Eve inspiration for you in case you were stuck for ideas. This is pretty much the same makeup I wore for my birthday and I got lots of nice comments on it on my vlog.
Zip n Go: Model's Essentials
My bestest friend Keisha Lall made a fleeting visit to London before heading back to New York where she's currently living and working as a model. Whilst she was here we chatted about everything we possibly could in the short time we had and one of the topics happened to be the stuff she carries around with her, her 'model essentials', for when she's at castings or travelling around.
The Best of Cult Beauty
I've been a fan of Cult Beauty for quite a while now so when I was invited to meet the founders and talk through some of their cult products I jumped at the chance.
Playing With Makeup #1
When it comes to getting in a makeup rut I'm definitely guilty. I tend to find products I love and stick to them, which is great, but I also love trying new things. So occasionally on days when I know I'll be at home all day I dive into my beauty drawers and pick out products I either haven't used for ages or haven't yet properly given a chance.
Giorgio Armani Lip Maestro
Is it a lipgloss? Is it a lipstick? No... it's a Lip Maestro. Sorry... that was awful. But it's genuinely how I felt when I tried these. If you remember a while ago I reviewed the Maestro foundation which was definitely interesting but wasn't perfect for me, well now they have brought out the Lip Maestro and I wanted to let you know how I got on with them.
Berry Revlon Lip Butters
I get something in my head and then if I try it and like it, I obsess over it. And at the moment that's berry shades, so I apologise for the berry overload!
Weekend Away Makeup
I thought I'd take a quick snap of what was in my makeup bag to show you what I took with me for my short weekend trip. Now I know this is pretty extreme for a 3 day trip, but packing was a last minute thing so I just grabbed all of my favourites and something appropriate for any situation!
Rimmel Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch
The Rimmel Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch (and breathe) is great for those of you who want to try cream blush but you also want to dabble with highlighters and find the whole thing a bit overwhelming. It's a kind of mix of the two and it makes the whole blusher/highlighter thing a whole lot simpler.
The Brush Tree
It's probably the strangest looking contraption I've ever seen but I do get the point. Usually I dry my brushes by placing them on kitchen towel flat, letting the brush ends hang off the edge so they keep their shape. It's important to not let any water drip into the metal part of the brush otherwise this can loosen the hairs and cause them to fall out.
Bronzers all year round
For me bronzers aren't a summer essential, they're an all year round essential. It's just a part of my makeup routine that I can't miss. I apply it after my foundation, before my blusher and it just warms up my complexion making me feel a bit less ghost like and also gives a bit more structure to my face
Lip Crayons
Can you sense a trend here? It seems the beauty world has gone crazy for crayon-like lip balms and lipsticks. Just when I thought there couldn't possibly be any more, another one lands on my desk. So today I thought I'd give you a run down of the ones I have in front of me.
Just a little tint
These kind of skin tints are a natural makeup girl's dream. There seem to be quite a few around so I thought I'd show you the ones I've got in my collection. They are definitely more of a Summer item, but I like to wear them underneath my foundation for a bit of a 'pick me up' glow.
Saturday Face
I've heard so many people say that on the weekends they hardly wear any makeup, but for me it's the opposite. I spend most the weekend out the house, seeing people, doing fun things and just generally keeping busy. So I like to look nice and my Saturday mornings are a time for me to experiment with new makeup.
Chanel Vitalumière Aqua Cream Compact
The first time you purchase this, you pay £39 for the whole compact and foundation. But once you run out, you simply repurchase another foundation refill for £29, which I think is a really good idea. Most of the time with high end products like this you are paying for the packaging, so to not have to repurchase the packaging is really good.
Burberry Complete Eye Palette
I've tried the lipsticks, eyeshadows and bronzer/highlighter from Burberry's new makeup line and I'm completely sold and impressed by the whole line - they've done a great job. The packaging is gorgeous and the quality of the products lives up to expectations.
Urban Decay: The Vice Palette
The shadows in the palette are a mix of mattes, shimmers, satins, neutrals and brights so there really is something for everyone. If you haven't used Urban Decay shadows before then this is a great way to introduce yourself to the brand as it really shows off the amazing quality of their shadows.
Sunny Autumn Day Essentials
It's rare, but something I really love during Autumn is a sunny day. There's something about a cold, crisp, sunny day that makes me really happy. Amazingly, yesterday was one of those days so I made the most of it and went outside.
Panda Days
I just couldn't resist this panda hoodie* from Romwe. The body and hood is grey, the sleeves are black and it has ears!! Pandas seem to be everywhere at the moment, I'm not sure why but I'm not complaining. The lipstick was a gift and I absolutely love it. I've wanted a Tom Ford lipstick for ages, especially since trying Ree's Wild Ginger lipstick.
NARS Primers
I'm Lily and I'm a primerholic. It's a step in my routine that I will never miss out. I think most people think primers are only for those with oily skin but that's so not the case.
Topshop Dark Side of Nude
I've been playing with Panther and Prism which are both gorgeous products. Panther is a pretty black and silver glitter that can be worn on it's own or over another polish. The glitter is quite sparse so I'd recommend wearing it over another colour like black or burgundy. It's dark and edgy but pretty and Christmassy at the same time!
