LEARNINGS FROM A DIGITAL DETOX

Hi, I'm back! I've been gone a little while, 31 days to be specific and I'm sorry about that. I've been on a semi-digital detox and I say semi because it wasn't a true digital detox really. For the month of October I decided to stop making content and stop sharing online for the first time in almost 8 years. It's something I chose to do for many reasons really, but mainly what it came down to was my happiness and well-being and I'm sure some of you noticed I wasn't really myself in September.

BULLET JOURNAL UPDATE & REFLECTION

It was almost two years ago now that I discovered the Bullet Journal, you might remember this blog post from when I first started experimenting with it. A year later and I made this video, explaining the system and how I made it work for me. So before you read this post, I'd definitely recommend watching my video as it really explains how I took the Bullet Journal system and adapted it for my specific needs. It's been almost two years now and I've learnt a lot about Bullet Journalling and how to best fit it into my life, so here's an update post as I often get asked if I'm still using it.

NON-TRADITIONAL WEDDING GIFT IDEAS

Wedding gifts... without a doubt the most frustrating gifts to buy. Birthdays, easy, baby showers, easy... weddings, not so much. It's probably due to the fact that you're buying a present for two people but also there seem to be so many rules and traditions, it's hard to know where you stand and what you're "supposed" to do.

HOW TO PLAN A HEN/BACHELORETTE PARTY

If you watch my videos you would know that I recently planned one of my best friend's hen party and well, it sort of took over my life. I know I'm a control freak, it's definitely one of my downfalls but the main reason it stressed me out was because I wanted so badly for her to have the best weekend of her life.

WHAT TO EXPECT FROM SAFARI

... in South Africa, to be specific.

I've always wanted to do safari and so when Rich and I were deciding on a honeymoon destination it seemed obvious to spend two weeks exploring South Africa, a country I've never been to but heard so much about. It's an 11 hour flight, but with only a two hour time difference it is SO easy to travel to. Having no jet lag makes ALL the difference. I'll try do a separate post on the route we took and where we stayed.

TALES OF A TOMBOY

In my 29th year I find myself reflecting and looking back more than ever before. I'm not quite as focused on my future, instead I spend more time thinking back, appreciating past moments and working out how I can apply my experiences to my future family. I think as a child I always struggled a bit with gender stereotypes. I was too young to know what gender stereotyping actually was but I knew I didn't like it and I constantly found myself defending my views. I don't really remember when I became less interested in barbies and more interested in football but from the age of around 8 to 16 I was a "tom boy" and proud of it.

GRANGER & CO

One of my new year's resolutions was to spend more time with like-minded, creative people and I'm so pleased to have found the perfect crew to do so with. It seems that Anna, Reem, Carrie and myself are all incredibly alike and we get on so well, which is lovely. We've spent a few days together now; eating, chatting work, chatting non work and sharing tips and advice. I love the vibe when we are all together!

POST-CHRISTMAS HOME DECOR

I LOVE the post-Christmas declutter. I took my tree down on the 27th and I know that probably makes me sound like a scrooge but I really can't stand Christmas decorations once Christmas has passed. I want it gone. Once the tree is taken down, the lights are put away and the Christmas bunting is folded into a drawer everything feels fresh and clean.

THE BEST PIZZA IN LONDON

I've tried my fair share of pizza places in London and there's no denying, some of the smaller independent Italian joints are incredible. I'd highly recommend Fabrizio's for metre long pizzas that are incredibly authentic but for something more accessible and really quite special, it's always Homeslice for me. You can either buy by the slice or order an entire 20inch pizza, but I would recommend going the whole hog because buying by the slice limits you to the "boring" toppings.
