Day 12: Final day in New York
Last day in New York - late flight so had time to kill.
Finally had pancakes for breakfast!
Went to Bloomingdales and bought some black short Uggs (I know they're ugly but SO warm!)
Day 10: New York
Woke up and grabbed a Tropicana and bagel from the deli below the apartment.
Got the ferry to Ellis island and the statue of liberty for a bit of tourist action.
Went to Schiller's for lunch - had a burger (best one yet!).
Day 9: New York
Sorry for the photo overload - doing a lot of things in NYC.
Went for brunch at the Cookshop - missed the brunch menu so had lunch. An epic turkey sandwich to make up for the lack of on xmas day.
Day 8: New York
In New York now. Half the family went home after Miami - I'm here with my boyfriend, sister and brother-in-law.
A quick corn dog whilst waiting in Miami airport.
Flight to New York - the journey was as long as The Inbetweeners film - so good!
The very cool and retro apartment we're renting.
Miami: Day 7
Christmas day in Miami! Whoo!
Went on a segway this morning - fell off a segway this morning. Ouch.
Went out for a delicious lunch.
Sat on the beach - read my kindle - had an afternoon nap.
Made dinner at the house - roast beef and all the trimmings.
Miami: Day 6
Probably worn these denim shorts everyday - whoops.
Went to Cecconi's for lunch at the Soho Beach House. Beautiful garden restaurant with amazing food.
Miami beach for some sun bathing and swimming with giant jellyfish.
Miami: Day 5
Yesterday's buys.
Kayaking at the most random lagoon - felt like Camp America.
Two candles from Bath & Body Works. 1 for $19.50 or 2 for $20 - deal!
The most incredible cheesecake from The Cheesecake Factory.
Miami: Day 2
A big American breakfast with OJ.
The beach!
Loads of amazing retro cars.
Johnny Rockets for lunch; burgers, chips and Buds all round.
Pack Up Your Troubles
I'm preparing for my weekend of packing and have started thinking about the dreaded toiletries.
They're always the hardest thing to pack and take up the most room and weight. I don't know if you'll all find this interesting or not, but I wanted to show you how I plan on packing them.
New WIHT cards
I actually hand out my cards quite a lot these days, so I thought it was about time to update them from the mini ones I had before. They were a bit 'meh' and didn't say much about me and my blog.
24
My birthday was on Friday and so this weekend has been one big celebration. On Friday I went out for some amazing burgers with some friends and family and in the evening my whole family came round for Christmas dinner. We are away on the 25th, so we thought we'd do it early and it was delicious! We had crackers and everything :-)
Briar Rose
I was sent these hairbands by the lovely Holly from Briar Rose. I didn't really know what to expect as the company started by making hairbands for babies and toddlers. You can see on the Facebook page some gorgeous photos of her daughter modelling some very sweet hairbands. It was of course a genius idea to start making adult versions of these hairbands; everyone loves a big bow!
Snuggle Time
It's that time of year again - snuggling on the sofa watching films - and for this you need some amazing pyjamas. As much as I dislike Gilly Hicks, the staff, the store, the ethos. the prices... they do good stuff. Their pyjamas in particular are so warm, cosy and soft - I absolutely love them. I picked up this pair this weekend and they are going to be my best friend throughout Winter. They were £32 which is ridiculous for pyjamas, but I love them and have never found any others that are as good.
Sunday night essential
Aromatherapy Associates have always got it SO right. If you like bath oils, look no further, these are the best I have ever tried. The miniature bath & shower oil collection comes with 9 miniature oils for 9 different purposes.
Peach collar
I've been wearing these tops together quite a lot recently. I always liked this sweater but felt like it was a bit boring on it's own. So when I stuck this New Look shirt underneath, it really completed the look. In fact my stylist friend Debs inspired me to get more creative with my wardrobe. Sometimes it's so helpful having someone else look into your wardrobe. Both tops are really loose, so it's really comfy and I like to wear them with my tightest jeans.
The Handbag Project
I was contacted a while ago by the lovely Natasha and asked if I could send her a photo of myself, my favourite handbag and its contents, for an illustration for The Handbag Project. I of course said yes and didn't really know what to expect, but I was very excited.
Yesterday I was sent the final drawing and cannot believe how amazing it is! I absolutely love it! Look - it's me!!
