Something smells special

I think you are either a candle person or you're not. I can completely understand why some people 'wouldn't get it', but personally I love them and would happily spend good money on them. I've recently enjoyed trying out a few different ones and finding out what kind of scents I prefer. It's difficult as I don't yet have my own place so all the candles I burn need to be bedroom scents. When I have my own flat every room will definitely have it's own beautiful candle.

Hair Cut & Care

My hair is naturally very curly. I used to hate it, but now I've grown up I don't mind it. The reason why I straighten it all the time is more for convenience. Even though it's a pain to have to straighten it every morning, when it's curly I have to wash it everyday!

November Favourites

I've never done monthly favourites before, but I think one of my new years resolutions is going to be to do them every month (although I'm not sure if I can do December as I'll be away - good start!). I'll start them properly from January, but thought I'd do a mini one now as there are some products I have been using and loving everyday.

MUA: The Immaculate Collection

In the past few months I have really enjoyed exploring 'drugstore' makeup. I have always been quite skeptical of cheaper makeup but I'm being more open-minded now and have found some great products. I'm in love with a new foundation that I will tell you all about soon...

Berry Red

Whilst waiting for a friend in Topshop I found myself browsing the makeup stand. I'm never blown away by Topshop makeup but thought the Lip Markers looked quite interesting. The one thing that bugs me about wearing a bright lipstick is that I always have to use a small brush to line my lips. I have weird shape lips and always end up making a mess. So this marker pen lipstick/stain looked right up my street. I thought I'd give it a go and bought Berry Red for £8.

The gift of L'Occitane

L'Occitane do some gorgeous Chritmas gift sets and I popped down to the Covent Garden store to have a little look. I love the shop - it is a true pleasure to walk around in. There were mince pies, christmas cookies and champagne placed all around and I had a really lovely time.

Esio Trot

I went to a beauty supply store recently to buy a wall mountfor my ever expanding collection of nail polishes. Whilst I was there, I couldn't resist buying some Essie polishes (yes, I do have a problem). I am usually a pastel addict, but recently I've been craving autumnal colours. I actually picked up 5 polishes, but for some reason only remembered to photograph 4 (the one missing is Glamour Purse).

LOOK beauty

When I heard that LOOK magazine were creating their own beauty range I was a little sceptical. I couldn't help but think it would be a bit like a celebrity perfume. LOOK is one of my favourite weekly magazines and I had a great time at the LOOK show, so I was definitely intrigued to find out more...

Ring: Forever 21

Very messy nails, but you get the idea! I really like this ring from Forever 21, unfortunately it's a bit too big, but hopefully I can get something to make it fit.

Lush Christmas

I used to really dislike LUSH. Walking into one of their stores can be very overwhelming, and not just because of the amount of products but by the overpowering smell. The one thing that's always brought me back to have a browse is their amazing marketing. Sorry to have a  marketing geek moment, but it's just brilliant! Everything is perfect, from their ethos, gorgeous packaging, handwritten signs, logo, online community and seasonal products.

Hot like Chili

I've never bought or worn a matte lipstick before but I suddenly had the urge to try one. I've struggled with wearing red lipstick and have never found the right one. I was trying to find an Autumn lipstick and I think Chili is perfect! It's quite a deep red and makes me feel very 40s when I wear it. I'm still not completely used to wearing it and feel very 'look at me' when I do, but I do love it and can see myself wearing it a lot over the next few months.

Origins: amaZing Duo

Origins is a brand I have always been interested in. I remember when I was little I used to go to the Origins counter with my mum and I was fascinated by all the pretty products. I remember her talking to the lady for ages and then buying a bag of products, and I never really understandood why she needed them. Little did I know...

Korres Lip Butter Stick

I've already expressed my love for the Korres Lip Butter and now it comes in a stick! Zoe bought this for me from Liberty's and it's my new favourite. It's pretty much the same product, but less gloopy. This one is 'Mandarin' which is a really lovely coral colour. It's so easy to use, it's free of rubbish ingredients and it has SPF15 in it. It's around £6.50 (depending on where you buy it), which is quite expensive for a lip balm but I can tell it will last me ages and it's a really lovely product.

Inside my makeup bag

I thought I'd give you a peek into my daily makeup bag. These are my basic, essential products that I'm using at the moment. The blusher and eyeliner change regularly, but all of the others are staple products that I continue to buy again and again.

Yes to Cucumbers!!!

I first heard about the 'Yes To' range on Ingrid's YouTube channel and it seemed like a great brand. It's pretty hard to get in the UK, you can order it online at Feel Unique but apart from that, it's hard to get hold of. So when I was contacted and told that 'Yes To' will be coming to the UK at the end of the year I was very excited!

Drippy Halloween Nails

Thought I'd try some 'drippy' nails for Halloween. I used the Deborah Lipman 'Laras Theme' because although it's orange, it has a slight red tint to it. I'm actually quite enjoying these nails even though they're not my usual style.

Maybelline: Colossal Cat Eyes Mascara

I quite liked using the mascara and was impressed with the length it gave my lashes. The applicator literally feels like you're combing your lashes with a tiny, little comb. Personally, I prefer more thickening mascaras, but I would recommend this if you are looking for length!

I recently went to have a closer look at Jemma Kidd's new A/W makeup collection. I am going to split this into two posts, so let's start with JK and I'll come back to the pro range another time.

FashionistA

My first encounter with FashionistA makeup was at the launch of The Saturdays' magnetic nail polish. I knew FashionistA were the brand that made the polish but I had no idea they also had a whole cosmetics range. At the event we were able to pick out our own palette. The palettes work a bit like MAC, but they are square and instead of being magnetic, they just slot into place. It actually makes it much easier. I picked out 3 eyeshadows and one blusher.
