SOCIAL MEDIA ASSISTANT JOB SPEC

Location: Hybrid - mix of remote working and on-location shoot days. Must be London-based.
(A driving licence and car is a bonus but not essential.)

Hours: Part-time, approximately 10–15 hours per week (flexible schedule).
Some occasional out-of-hours support may be required.

About the Role

I’m looking for a proactive and creative Social Media Assistant to support with content

creation, publishing, and community engagement across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok.

This role is ideal for someone who’s organised, creative, and passionate about digital media.

Key Responsibilities

Content Management:

• Support weekly YouTube vlog uploads — write descriptions, update affiliate links, and schedule content.

• Design engaging thumbnails and visual assets in Canva.

• Edit short-form cutdowns for YouTube Shorts, Instagram Reels, and TikTok.

• Identify opportunities for cross-posting and repurposing content.

Creative Support:

• Contribute new and engaging content ideas tailored to each platform.

• Assist on shoots - filming with iPhone when the videographer is unavailable.

• Help with sourcing props and styling for shoots.

• Support production of the YouTube series Foggy Mornings - researching guests, scouting locations, drafting interview questions, planning short-form content and sourcing props.

Affiliate & Monetisation Support:

• Keep affiliate links up to date across YouTube and Instagram.

• Create weekly affiliate collages for Instagram.

• Support monetisation strategies in line with brand values.

Admin & Reporting:

• Maintain Notion boards with content schedules, to-do lists, and planning documents.

• Manage reminders and deadlines to ensure smooth workflows.

• Deliver monthly performance summaries and share actionable insights.

About You

• Detail-oriented - catches typos, inconsistencies, and editing errors.

• Organised - manages time well and isn’t afraid to ask questions.

• Adaptable - keeps up with trends and algorithm shifts.

• Problem-solver - handles last-minute challenges calmly and efficiently.

Technical Skills:

• Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

• Confident with Canva (graphic design) and CapCut (video editing).

• Skilled in caption writing and community engagement.

• Familiar with scheduling tools such as Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite, and YouTube Studio.

• Experience managing affiliate platforms such as LTK, ShopMy, or Klarna is a plus.
