Colour Block
Last week when the sun came out I had a sudden realization of how much black and grey takes up my wardrobe. I suddenly craved some colour – even though I hardly ever wear it. The best highstreet store to go to for colour at the moment is definitely Zara. It is literally like a rainbow in there. I picked up about 20 items and took them all into the fitting room. Some were horrendously unflattering, and some were surprisingly sweet. I hardly ever wear colour, and when I do, it is paired with black or white or something plain. Whilst trying everything on, top by top and skirt by skirt, I stumbled across this combo. I would never normally wear green and blue together, but I think I really like this!
Fool on the hill
A little sneak preview of the dress I bought for… I’m just going to call it ‘wedding season’.
I didn’t want to show it on, because it looks so much better when my makeup, hair and everything is done properly!
And I will upload photos when I wear it anyway!
Zip Clutch
Well I had to get a bag for the wedding too! 🙂
Sorry, not much chatting in this post, got lots of hen night duties to be getting on with!
Love My Roots
My parents recently went to Canada and they bought me back a few goodies. One of them was this jumper from ROOTS. I really love it. So simple, but SO useful!
Strawberry Fields
001. BIODERMA Crealine H2O: I have always been told for years how bad face wipes are, but I have never cared – they are easy! But recently I have started to notice how they really do just scrape the top layer of my skin, so I decided to look for the perfect make up remover….
Going Green
It is getting to that time of year when it is too warm for my winter coat but still too cold for just a jumper. I came across this jacket in Uniqlo and it is perfect! It is really thin and is the perfect length for me. It’s so easy to put on top of a thin jumper, so I have been wearing it everyday since I bought it. It also has a hood, which is great for those unpredictable rainy English days. It was only £20, which I think is a really reasonable price for such a useful item!
I’m a Tree
I’ve got a couple of weddings coming up this year and one of them is my sister’s. I have always found it really hard to dress for weddings… I’m not really a conventional dress kinda girl. I like to feel like myself, I don’t like to feel like I am wearing something just because I should be. Does that even make sense?
Here comes the Sun…
I have been looking for some kinda oversized, loose knit, spring type jumper… The Topshop and Urban Outfitter ones are amazing, but just too expensive. I can’t bring myself to spend that much on something which is so cheap to make. I was walking down Oxford Street last week and in the corner of my eye I saw this jumper in a store. It is from Vera Moda, which is a store that has never appealed to me. It was in the sale for £10, so I obviously grabbed it and bought it straight away. I love it, it is perfect for the weather at the moment.

LFWE pt1
I was very lucky yesterday to be invited to London Fashion Weekend as a ‘VIP’ guest. All thanks to the lovely Cheryl Tutty who was running the Chombard Club Lounge. Debs and I had a great day, despite the hurrendous rain! We turned up at about 2pm and had a browse through the designer sale. I am always slightly dissapointed with the shopping at LFWE, but maybe that is just because it is SO busy. We chilled in the club lounge for a while, sipping champagne and eating scons, and then we got to watch the catwalk show. They sat us front row, which was lovely and we saw the collections from Swan Vesta, Bora Aksu and Mark Fast. I didn’t LOVE all the stuff, but there definately were some great pieces!
Rare Inspiration
I know I usually put up my own photos, but because of my crazy busy schedule at the moment, today I will instead share some inspirational photos with you.
The real London girl!
Hello! So… do you remember this post?
I asked all you lovely people to help vote for my best friend Keisha who was taking part in a Rimmel competetion. Well, I think I told you that she won… which was amazing! So she will star in a TV advert along with 4 other winners. BUT… because she is such a gorgeous girl, they also asked her to be the face of the new ‘Glam Eyes’ range. So here she is… in Boots, in Superdrug… everywhere!
beauty haul
001. The other night I tried the new Chanel Aqua Vitalumiere foundation on one side of my face and the classic Vitalumiere on the other. To my suprise, and slight disappointment, the Vitalumiere was much nicer. Although the new Aqua Vitalumiere promises to be light-weight and more like a tinted moisturiser, I actually felt like it was heavier and more make-up looking on my skin. I loved the Vitalumiere though, and despite the bottle not being as nice as the Aqua Vitalumiere, I got it… and so far it has been great!
FOREVER21
Conveniently my graduation took place in Birmingham, right next to the Bullring, which I think is a really great shopping centre. It has pretty much everything you need in one place! So whilst I was there I thought I would pop into Forever 21, the first store in Europe and a store I love to shop in when I’m in America.
HEART DAY
Valentines day is soon approaching and this is where I usually say, “it’s just a day for card companies…” blah blah etc etc. But now I think about it, I think I have always just agreed with most my friends and most men, when in fact I think I quite like Valentines Day. I think buying extravagant presents is a little bit ridiculous, but I do love that all the brands have special Valentine’s editions and that everything becomes red and pink and heart shaped. So I admit…. I quite like the idea of Valentine’s Day.
Spread the love
So, there have been many times in the past where I have found myself in this sort of situation:
-The girl in the hairdressers says “I love your necklace, where is it from?”
-A friend of a friend says “I am loving reading blogs and really want to find more”
-Someone says to me “oh I was telling someone about your blog, but I couldn’t remember what the site address called”
dot dot dot…
I bought this tunic/dress a few weeks ago. It’s one of those Topshop items that EVERYONE has. I keep seeing people walk past me on the street wearing it, which is so annoying! But that’s highstreet shops for you…
Bright Here, Bright Now
I have always been very unsure of trying ‘drugstore’ skincare. I’ve sort of been brain washed to think that only the expensive brands are good. Although a lot of the cheaper brands DO have a lot of rubbish and chemicals in them, there are some that don’t.
