I’m excited to introduce quite a few new products in this post. First of all, the new makeup from Origins. I was recently introduced to this range and although excited I was a little sceptical at the thought of it. Origins is known for it’s amazing skincare and sometimes when skincare brands branch out to makeup it all goes terribly wrong. Luckily I was incorrect and I’m pleased to tell you that I LOVE the range.

The star product is the Ginzing Brightening mascara, which is supposed to lengthen and lift your lashes and is one of the best I’ve tried. It’s comparable to the Bourjois Volumiser as it has a massive brush and gives a lot of thickness as well as length. The formula includes caffeine which helps the lashes to look healthy and vibrant. I’d definitely recommend going to check it out as the brush is quite unique.

I also really like the new Plantscription foundation and I’m wearing in the shade 02 light neutral. It’s an anti-ageing foundation that super moisturising and gives a medium coverage, depending on how you apply it. I used my beloved buffing brush to apply it and it lasted around 10 hours which is longer than most foundations last on me. This foundation uses the soft focus technology that everyones going mad about at the moment, which is why it’s so good at disguising any fine lines or wrinkles. Another great thing about this foundation is that it’s available in 12 shades, which is a very decent amount. I’m pretty sure this will make an appearance in this month’s monthly favourites.

The foundation gives good enough coverage on blemishes but I used a little of their new Plantscription anti-ageing concealer for under my eyes and I can tell you it blends beautifully. It reminds me of the Collection 2000 concealer in terms of coverage, but without the cakey dry patches that it sometimes gives. You can tell when using the foundation and concealer that unlike a lot of makeup, these are actually doing good for your skin and they feel nourishing.

Another new product to the range are the Ginzing cream eyeshadows and this one which is Gingerzing is very similar to MAC’s Bare Study. I wouldn’t recommend it as the best cream eye shadow I’ve tried, but it did create a nice base and was easy to apply with my finger. Just to add to this, I used my Satin Taupe eyeshadow along the top lash line.

On my face I was so excited to use my new Burberry bits. The Warm Glow bronzer is a lovely bronzer, which I used to contour with. It gives a really nice subtle warmth to the face and is easy to build up. I then used the lighter shades from the Sheer Summer Glow palette as a highlight along my cheekbones. Both products used together are just pure perfection for summer makeup. To add a bit of colour I used MAC’s Blush Baby which is a nice natural blush colour. Nothing on the lips… sometimes it’s just not necessary.

So what do you think? Any of these products make you squeal with excitement?

MAC Fix+ https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/07/mac-fix.html https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/07/mac-fix.html#disqus_thread Tue, 03 Jul 2012 13:30:00 +0000 http://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/mac-fix/
Travel sized MAC Fix+ – £7

This was a very spontaneous purchase when I was waiting in the queue at MAC. I’ve heard so much about it as it’s such a famous product, but had never tried it so I thought what the hell and bought the mini travel sized version.

The Fix+ is described as an ‘aqua-spritz of vitamin and minerals, infused with a calm-the-skin blend of green tea, chamomile, cucumber, topped off with the fresh, natural, energizing scent of
Sugi”.

It can be used as a finishing spray once your makeup is applied or as a makeup refresher throughout the day.

Hmmm… I’m not sure about it. The first thing I noticed is that it’s really wet. Unlike the Caudalie Beauty Elixer, it’s not a mist, it’s more of a direct spray. I don’t like to use it directly after applying my makeup as I think it sort of ruins it. It is a nice spray to freshen up, but my Caudalie Beauty Elixer already does that so well.

I think what it is good for is changing an overly matte look into a more wearable dewy look. I think there are probably other ways I can use this, but I’m a bit ‘meh’ about it. If you have any suggestions on good ways to use this then please let me know!

Do you use the fix+?

MAC ‘Jaunty’ eye shadow £12.50, MAC ‘Fleet Fast’ blusher £18

MAC released a new collection yesterday called ‘Hey Sailor!’. I was in Selfridges and couldn’t resist having a look. There was a lady dressed as a sailor tap dancing to the blaring music, so it was pretty hard to miss!

The collection consists of 5 single eyeshadows, 2 pigments, 1 mascara, 3 powerpoint eye pencils, 4 lipsticks, 5 lipglasses, 3 liquid lip balms, 3 long wear lip pencils, 2 powder blushers, 1 highlighting powder and 2 nail lacquers. So it’s quite  a big collection! The packaging is quite gimmicky but still very cute. Who doesn’t love stripes?!

I bought the two products that really stood out to me. Not because I wanted to review them on my blog, but because they are products I genuinely want to use and because they’re very me. I would have loved to show you all more products from the collection, but I don’t just by things for the sake of it. The ‘Jaunty’ eye shadow caught my attention because I love eye shadows that I can easily wear all over my lid for an everyday look. It’s a frost finish and is described as a light yellow beige. I think it’s quite champagne-y and just completely gorgeous. I’m sure you all know by now how much I love a good blusher, so I had to get one! ‘Fleet Fast’ is a pinky, golden coral and gives the perfect flushed look.

There wasn’t much else that stood out to me in the collection apart from the highlighting powder and the ‘Feeling Fresh’ eyeshadow. The full collection is now available in all MAC stores and online.

What do you think of this collection? Will you be buying anything from it?

Zara Coral Linen Scarf , Zara tee, Zara basic Cardigan, Cook MAC ‘Hush Hush’ Tendertone lip balm,
Converse high tops

Last week wasn’t a good week, the weather was horrific and nothing seemed to go right. So when it came to the weekend I needed some retail therapy… yes, I said NEEDED.

I’ve been loving Zara recently so I went straight there to see what I could find. Despite the cold and the rain it feels weird wearing a winter scarf in April so I picked up this nice linen Summer scarf. It’s really soft and I love the colour! I also bought a basic grey cardigan for those days where you need an extra layer but don’t want to cover up a nice top or shirt. The final thing I picked up at Zara was a loose Aztec print t-shirt that I can wear now and  throughout the Summer.

I’ve also been looking to buy some casual shoes for ages as I only have black boots and some days black boots just aren’t appropriate. I tried on a few different Converse, but I find that most of them look ridiculous on me. These were the last ones I tried and I actually really like them. I think the black laces make all the difference and makes them more wearable. They’re not canvas like most Converse, they are nylon which I quite like.

So quite a basic shop, nothing too exciting, but things that I needed.
Do you like what I bought? Are you also loving Zara?

MAC Lipstick: ‘Hot Gossip’ https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/04/mac-lipstick-hot-gossip.html https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/04/mac-lipstick-hot-gossip.html#disqus_thread Tue, 17 Apr 2012 14:30:00 +0000 http://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/mac-lipstick-hot-gossip/
MAC ‘Hot Gossip’ £13.50

Oopsy! So I was buying a lipstick for my friend Keisha’s birthday (I got her ‘Syrup’) and I ‘accidentally’ bought one for me too. I was swatching away and came across this beaut called ‘Hot Gossip’. It’s a cremesheen, which means it’s really moisturising and easy to wear. I’m trying more and more to buy beauty products that are work appropriate and this is a colour I can easily wear during the day. It’s a slightly darker pink than my actual lip colour and I absolutely love it!

Sorry there isn’t a photo of me wearing it, but I may do a ‘work makeup’ routine soon and I’ll be sure to include this!

Has anyone else tried this shade? What do you think of it?

I’ve been buying far too much recently. Working in town is really bad for my bank balance! I’ve had quite a few video requests so here’s one on all the bits I’ve bought recently.
Hope you like it!
