I thought I’d show you some of my glitter nail polishes today as I’ve become a bit of a magpie within the last year and I seemed to have collected quite a few! There are more, but here are the best ones.

I don’t know why I love glitter nail polishes so much, they’re not very grown up or classy, but they’re just so sparkly!

I think my top 5 would be:

O.P.I for Sephora ‘Spark-tacular’
This is pretty much an exact dupe for O.P.I Rainbow Connection which is why I picked it up when I was in America. The glitter circles are all different sizes and are multi-coloured. I like to wear is over a shimmery or pearl nail polish to get a full glitter effect as I’m not a fan of block colour with dispersed glitter on top.

I spoke about this polish in this post and it’s brand new to Topshop. The colour is just amazing and looks great over a bright blue so that the glitter just catches the light.

LOOK Beauty ‘Bling’*
Love, love, love this. It applies like a dream, leaving a thick layer of condensed glitter. It’s also a gorgeous vintage pink colour that goes with nearly everything.

Bourjois 1 Second ’14’*
I would probably describe this as a fairy’s birthday party in a bottle. Purply, pinky sparkly goodness but the thing I like most about it is the amazing brush and the smooth application. This one always gets the most compliments!

Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear ‘Disco Ball’
This is really different one to the others. It’s a top coat so can be used over any polish and it goes on nice and thick leaving a blue/green toned glitter. It literally makes your nails look like a disco ball.

I think I need to chill out with the glitter nail polishes now.

Are you also a glittery nail fan?

LOOK Beauty Cool Britannia – £5*

Oh I do love patriotic nails. LOOK beauty do amazing glitter polishes, Bling being my favourite, so I was excited to try this Olympic themed limited edition polish.

Cool Britannia is a silver based polish with red and blue glitter. It’s mesmorizing and beautiful. The reason I love LOOK Beauty glitter polishes is because they apply so well. I used two coats, but even after the first coat it looked perfect.

This is a limited edition polish which is available in a few select Superdrug stores or you can get it online here. They’re doing a special offer where you get it for free when you order 2 products.

What do you think of this polish? Do you love it as much as I do?

January Favourites 2012 https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/01/january-favourites-2012.html https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/01/january-favourites-2012.html#disqus_thread Tue, 31 Jan 2012 16:00:00 +0000 http://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/january-favourites-2012/

Origins Ginger Souffle whipped body cream: I’ve been using this after my showers/baths and I absolutely love the smell. I’m not even a big fan of ginger, I just love the citrus scent it leaves on the skin. It’s so luxurious! I bought this is American, so it was slightly cheaper, but I’d repurchase it here any day!

Herbalife Exfoliating Scrub*: This scrub has strawberry and raspberry seeds in it, which is really different and very affective. Unlike a lot of other exfoliators that are too rough for my face, this one is really gentle. I’ve been using this a lot recently.

ARK Age Prepare Skin Purifying Mask*: I absolutely love this face mask. It’s a really nice, thick cream that you apply a thin layer of all over your face. You leave it on for 10 minutes while it hardens and you try your best not to laugh and crack it. Once it’s removed my face always feel SO soft.

Bath & Body Works Fireside scented candle: I got a couple of these candles in America and I have been burning them daily since I got back. The fireside scent is absolutely gorgeous and makes my bedroom smell really cosy and comforting.

MAC Blushbaby blusher: I’ve mentioned this before so I won’t go into detail. Just a really easy sheer tone blusher that I’ve been wearing everyday to work.

MAC Soba eye shadow: Such an easy shade to wear all over the lid for an everyday look. I use a MAC 217 brush and sweep it all over if I’m in a rush.

Mavala Rose Dust & Moon Grey polish*: I’ve been loving using these neutral shades alongside my LOOK Beauty ‘Bling’ glitter polish*. The Mavala polishes are tiny so I always overlooked them, but they are really great quality.

NYX Slide On Pencil in Brown Perfection: Picked up this eyeliner in Ulta in Miami for around £1. I’ve been using this to line my upper lashes and it makes a really nice change from black liquid liner. Sometimes I just prefer a more natural look, and this is a really easy way to achieve that.

Clarins Skin Illusion Natural Radiance Foundation: I fell back in love with this foundation. I don’t think it gets talked about enough these days; it is such a great foundation! It smells like watermelon, blends really easily and genuinely makes you look radiant without looking shiny. This is probably my favourite foundation that I’ve tried!

Tresemmé Heat Defence styling spray: I bought this is my lunch break in Tesco when I was feeling the need to spend money. A lot of the products I love to use don’t actually protect my hair from heat so I felt the need to use something that does. What I like most about this is the pump. Like the John Frieda 3-day straight, it has a really easy to spray pump that evenly distributes the product and is just a pleasure to spray!

So that’s all for this month. Have you been using any of these products?

The best of 2011 https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/01/the-best-of-2011.html https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/01/the-best-of-2011.html#disqus_thread Sun, 01 Jan 2012 13:49:00 +0000 http://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/the-best-of-2011/

Blusher: SMASHBOX Fusion Soft Lights is the perfect blusher for me and looks really natural on. I wear this pretty much everyday for work.
Foundation: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua has been my favourite foundation this year as it’s appropriate for so many different occasions. I wear the shade B20 Beige Tendre. It makes your skin look flawless whilst still looking natural. It’s also really easy to apply with your hands.
Face Primer: The Laura Mercier fondation primer is by far the best primer I have tried. I use it every single day and without it my makeup disappears after an hour. It’s light and fragrance free – without this primer there’s no point in applying any of my other makeup.
Eye Shadow: This year I was introduced to the new LOOK makeup range and have loved using the Triple Hit in La Luxe. The shadows are really pigmented and are the perfect everyday shades.
Concealer: The Bobbi Brown corrector wins hands down. Creamy, perfect colour match, long-wearing and easy to apply. This completely covers my dark circles and I couldn’t live without it.
Lips: This year I bought my first matte lipstick – MAC’s Chili. It’s a gorgeous deep, rust red which I’ve worn lots throughout the Winter. I also discovered Revlon’s Lip Butters and my favourite shade at the moment is 001 Pink Truffle.
Mascara: I recently bought the Makeup For Ever Smoky Lash mascara from Sephora and it beats any mascara I’ve used before. It makes my lashes look thick and long in only a few strokes.

Eye Primer: Far better than any of it’s competitors, the MUA eye primer makes my eye shadows apply much better and last much longer – and it’s so cheap!!

Eye Liner: Soap & Glory released their new makeup range this year and my favourite thing from the collection is the Super Cat liquid felt tip eye liner. It’s really easy to use and creates a thick black line that doesn’t budge all day.
Brushes: My 3 favourite brushes from this year are the Japonesque 324, MAC 214 and the Sephora airbrush concealer brush. The Japonesque brush is incredibly soft and picks up so much product, the MAC brush applies eye shadow perfectly under the bottom lash line and the Sephora brush is bigger than the average concealer brush making it really easy to blend in product under the eye.
Happy New year everyone! Hope you like my product round up – are any of these your favourite too?

November Favourites https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2011/12/november-favourites-3.html https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2011/12/november-favourites-3.html#disqus_thread Sun, 04 Dec 2011 17:48:00 +0000 http://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/november-favourites-3/ I’ve never done monthly favourites before, but I think one of my new years resolutions is going to be to do them every month (although I’m not sure if I can do December as I’ll be away – good start!). I’ll start them properly from January, but thought I’d do a mini one now as there are some products I have been using and loving everyday.

Bourjois Volumizer Mascara: This is probably the first ‘cheap’ mascara that I’ve actually liked. It’s got 2 steps; one brush to separate and lengthen the lashes, and then a second brush to add volume. It works really well and makes my lashes look really thick. It’s £10.49, so it’s not cheap, but compared to YSL it’s a bargain!

Smashbox Fusion Soft Lights Blush : I got this blusher at the QVC press day, although I can’t find it now on their website which is a bit annoying. It’s one of the best blushers I’ve used. It suits my skin tone perfectly and gives me a lovely healthy look without looking like I’m wearing too much makeup. I actually think this blusher would suit everyone because there are so many different shades in it.

MUA Professional Eye Primer: This primer is only £2.50 and hands down beats any MAC or Urban Decay primer that I’ve tried. The applicator is really easy to use and the primer is a creamy texture. My eyeshadow doesn’t budge at all when I use this and I now use it everyday, even when I’m not wearing shadow! I will never ever buy an expensive eye primer again.

Look Beauty Triple Hit: The perfect 3 eye shadow shades! This is the ‘LA LUXE Shade 1’. I use the lightest one all over the lid, then I sometimes add a bit of the gold, and then use the taupe in the outer crease. They are really pigmented and remind me of the shadows from the Urban Decay Naked palette. I am definitely going to take this away with me when I travel. They retail for £7.50 and are available from Superdrug.

I’m getting really excited now for all the things I have coming up. My birthday is next week and I’m going to be turning 24. It’s such a nothing age, but I am really looking forward to going out with all my friends. One of my best friends is coming over from Germany and I’ll also be doing lots of birthday shenanigans all weekend. I’m then going away for 2 weeks to Miami and New York – my list of things to buy there is ridiculously long! Please tell me if there’s anything that you think I have to get.
I’ve also decided (god knows why) to take my laptop with me and do a daily photo diary whilst I’m out there. So you lot can see what I’m up to and I also won’t have to overload you with photos when I’m back.

Like that idea? 🙂

LOOK beauty https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2011/11/look-beauty.html https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2011/11/look-beauty.html#disqus_thread Mon, 21 Nov 2011 11:00:00 +0000 http://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/look-beauty/ When I heard that LOOK magazine were creating their own beauty range I was a little sceptical. I couldn’t help but think it would be a bit like a celebrity perfume. LOOK is one of my favourite weekly magazines and I had a great time at the LOOK show, so I was definitely intrigued to find out more…
I had a sneak peak at the range when I received a few products in my LOOK show goodie bag, but wasn’t entirely convinced.

I was invited to the official launch event last week which was held in a gorgeous venue in Marble Arch.

The event was really nice and definitely changed my mind. Once I’d tried the rest of the range I realised there are some really great products! I’d say the quality and prices are similar to Topshop makeup.

Pro Palette 3 in 1 looks £15
How to Smokey Eye Pro kit £12 (these sets are seasonal and will constantly change)
Nail Pop £5
Bronzer, Powder and Blusher £8
Stand Out Eyes Single Eyeshadow £4
Double Lip Hit Lipstick and Gloss £7

At the event was a photobooth which was amazing! I was so distracted by all the makeup that I only went in twice (trust me I would have gone in about 10 times otherwise). It was really funny – I find it so hard to pose though without laughing.. hence my absence in one of the photos!

Me with Zoe
Me with Kate and Jen

The goodie bags were personalised and I think the products picked for me are perfect! The stand out products for me is the Triple Hit Trio Eyeshadow, the Double Lip Hit, the Nail pops and the blusher – individual reviews to follow!

In this photo I am wearing LOOK on my eyes, cheeks and lips – love it.

The LOOK beauty range was developed by the dedicated LOOK beauty team and donations from the sales will go to the Look Good, Feel Better charity.

It will be available exclusively in Superdrug from the end of November (a lot of them already stock it).

Disclaimer: Some products from the range were given to me in a goodie bag for review. My opinion is always honest.
