Blue Nail Polish

I think it’s fair to say that my favourite colour nail polish is blue. I’m not sure why exactly, it’s not at all natural and can look quite young, but I just always gravitate towards blue and turquoise.

Here’s a collection of some of my favourites, with the majority being from Essie as you know I’m a big fan. Pool Party from Topshop is a gorgeous blue with a hint of green and always gets me compliments and Gone Fishing it a more spearmint green version. Lapiz of Luxury by Essie is a brighter blue and I really love it and Cocktail Bling is a blue toned grey for when I want to be more subtle with my nails. Mint Candy Apple is probably one of Essie’s top selling polishes and is definitely a blogger favourite, it’s the perfect mint green!

Essie ‘Cute as a Button’ dupe

Essie ‘Cute as a Button’ £9.95/£7.99, Bourjois 10 day nail enamel ’25’ £5.99*

I’ve found a dupe! I’m so proud of myself.. does this make me a real beauty blogger?! ha.

Essie ‘Cute as a Button’ has always been one of my favourite nail colours; it’s a gorgeous coral and I love it! If you remember, I recently spoke about the new Bourjois Sweet Paris collection and in that collection was a 10 day nail enamel in ’25’. I recently wore this and instantly saw the similarity ‘Cute as a Button’. I wouldn’t even call this a dupe… it’s an exact replica! In the swatch above, the top one is Essie and the bottom is Bourjois. The Bourjois polish applies slightly thicker and has a funny angled brush, but the final outcome is pretty much identical with both polishes.

Essie nail polishes are usually around £9.95, although they have recently launched in Superdrug and Boots selling around 30 of their most popular shades for £7.99. I have seen them in Superdrug in Marble Arch, so head that way if you want to buy some!

Anyway, I’m pretty happy with this find. It means that’s one Essie polish I won’t have to keep repurchasing!

Esio Trot

Random, but the name Essie has always reminded me of Esio Trot… ah, I loved Roald Dahl books

I went to a beauty supply store recently to buy a wall mount for my ever expanding collection of nail polishes. Whilst I was there, I couldn’t resist buying some Essie polishes (yes, I do have a problem). I am usually a pastel addict, but recently I’ve been craving autumnal colours. I actually picked up 5 polishes, but for some reason only remembered to photograph 4 (the one missing is Glamour Purse).
