Elemis Limited Edition Papaya Enzyme Peel – £28.60*

The Elemis Papaya Enzyme Peel is a cult products in the beauty world, but for some reason I’d never tried it before. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the award-winning peel, Elemis have brought one out as a limited edition, in gorgeous packaging designed by Laura Oakes. As well as the very cute design, Elemis have also teed up with a new charity called SOCO to provide funding for over 50,000 vaccinations for children in Africa.

So what is the Papaya Enzyme Peel? It uses an enzyme called Papain, which is extracted from crushed papaya and pineapple which is sourced from Africa. The enzyme gently dissolves any superficial dead skin cells, which make the skin rough and uneven. You apply a generous amount all over the face, leave it for 10-12 minutes and then remove with a damp muslin cloth.

They call it an exfoliator but you apply it kind of like a mask. Once the product is on, it is an off white colour and it does thins funny thing where is separates on your face so you end up looking a bit like a globe. My skin felt extremely soft after using it and my moisturiser worked so much better that night.

I’d highly recommend this product and I know it’s going to become a staple in my skincare routine. You can pick it up from Feel Unique, with free delivery here

Have you ever tried this?

Pamper Night https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/07/pamper-night.html https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/07/pamper-night.html#disqus_thread Fri, 13 Jul 2012 11:00:00 +0000 http://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/pamper-night/
M&S Hair Turban, Peptalash*, Elemis Milk Bath*,Honeysuckle Jasmine Northumbrian Candleworks candle*, L’Occitaine Shower Oil, Philipp Kingsley Elasticizer, Neom Body Scrub*, Satin Care shaver gel, Origins Drink Up Intensive Mask
Ojon Dry Recovery Shampoo & Conditioner*, Ojon Restorative mask*, Regis Curl Lock Curl Cream
Neal’s Yard ‘Melissa’ Hand Cream, NUXE Reve de Miel lip balm, Jo Hansford Illuminoil*, NEOM Body Oil*, Paul & Joe nail file*

Sometimes I get the urge to have a pamper night… a night to myself to indulge in products, relaxation and forget about the world (and the Internet).

I thought I’d show you an example of the products I would use during one of my pamper evenings.

The first thing I’d do is wash my hands and remove ALL my makeup so I can start from scratch. I’d then run the bath (extra hot) and light a candle; this time I used one from Northumbrian Candleworks, which is a pure soy wax candle. I use some of the Elemis bath milk, which is a lovely soft, creamy product. If it was a shower kind of night I’d be using the L’Occitaine shower oil. Whilst I’m in the bath I apply the Peptolash (I still haven’t decided if this works or not) and smother my face in the Origins Drink Up Intensive mask. This mask always relaxes me as it feels so nice on and smells amazing. I also use this time to give my hair a pre-shampoo treatment using the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer. After I’ve coated my dry hair I put it all up in my new M&S hair turban. I then exfoliate my entire body with the NEOM body scrub (this usually involves standing up in the bath and nearly killing myself) which is my favourite thing to do as it leaves me feeling so soft and clean. After exfoliating I shave my legs, which isn’t very glamourous… but you know, it’s gotta be done! Then it’s 20 minutes of relaxation…

After my bath I sometimes use a body cream or gradual tanner, but on this occasion I used the NEOM body oil which is incredible! I have long, thick hair so washing my hair whilst in the bath isn’t an option, so I wash it over the bath once I’m in my PJs. I wash out the pre-shampoo treatment and then use the Ojon shampoo and conditioner which leaves my hair in really good quality. I also love the Ojon hair mask which I will often use instead of the Philip Kingsley. If I am doing my hair curly I use the Regis curl lock cream and if it’s straight I like to use an oil. The Jo Hansford oil is a really lovely one and makes my hair look nice and shiny.

The final part of my pamper evening includes sitting on the sofa, watching good (crap) TV, using my favourite Neal’s Yard hand cream and NUXE lip balm and doing my nails.

Wow… that’s a lot of writing. I hope this was slightly interesting for some of you. It’s made me want to jump in the bath just talking about it! If you ever have a tough day or you’re feeling a little stressed, I’d highly recommend pampering yourself and using a million products… it really helps!

Do you have a pamper evening routine?

March Favourites 2012 https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/03/march-favourites-2012.html https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/03/march-favourites-2012.html#disqus_thread Fri, 30 Mar 2012 15:52:00 +0000 http://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/march-favourites-2012/
NARS Laguna Bronzer, Maybelline 24 colour tattoo, Bourjois magic nail polish remover*, Elemis Fresh Skin serum*

Just a quick monthly favourites this month, as nothing has really shone for me. Next month will be a big one as I have already fallen in love with loads of products over the last week.
NARS Laguna Bronzer:  I’ve wanted this bronzer for ages but hadn’t run out of my old Guerlain bronzer yet so couldn’t justify buying it. That was until I got an email from Buyapowa and saw it was available for as low as £18 (I think). So I snapped one up within minutes! I really like it. You need to apply it with quite a light hand as it’s quite dark and very pigmented, but it’s easy to blend and looks really natural.
Maybelline Colour 24 hour tattoo (never know what the real name is, it’s too long!) in ‘On and on bronze’: I’ve already written about this in detail here, and I haven’t stopped wearing it since. It’s the perfect eye shadow for work because it stays put all day. I can’t recommend this enough, it’s amazing!
Bourjois Magic nail polish remover: This has changed my life. I know that these were brought out a few years ago, but Bourjois have just created their own pot of magic nail polish remover and this time it won’t damage your nails. You basically stick your finger inside the pot of foam, twist it around a bit and voila, your nail polish is removed. I’m obsessed with it and for £3.99 I will be repurchasing this again and again. It’s made with sweet almond oil so your nails feel nourished after. This will be available from mid April in Boots and Superdrug and I highly recommend it.
Elemis Fresh Skin Super Boost moisturising serum: I got this at the Superdrug press event and I was actually really pleased to hear that Elemis were putting their products in Superdrug. Elemis Fresh Skin is their sub-range for younger skin and I think it’ll work really well. I have been loving this serum this month; I use it before my moisturiser and primer and it feels gorgeous on the skin.
What have you been loving this month?

Elemis Pro-Radiance Hand and Nail Cream https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/02/elemis-pro-radiance-hand-and-nail-cream.html https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/02/elemis-pro-radiance-hand-and-nail-cream.html#disqus_thread Thu, 09 Feb 2012 21:00:00 +0000 http://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/elemis-pro-radiance-hand-and-nail-cream/

The pro-radiance hand and nail cream is the latest edition to the Elemis ‘Spa@Home’ body anti-ageing category.
This hand cream has been made with some lovely oils including Omega 7, Avellana seed oil, Macademia seed oil, virgin plum oil, camellia seed oil and is free from silicon. It’s meant to deeply condition your hands and leave nails feeling strong and nourished.
I love the smell of the hand cream, it reminds me of being in a spa and it’s a real treat to use. When you first apply it, it does feel slightly greasy, but it very quickly sinks into the skin and leaves your hands feeling really soft. My hands have been really dry recently, especially because of the heating at work, so this will be sitting with me at my desk and will be getting regular use! It’s slightly thicker than your average hand cream but is still easy to rub over both hands.

You get 100ml of product and it retails for £22. It launches this month and will be available from timetospa, nationwide spas/salons, selected John Lewis, Debenhams and Harvey Nichols stores.

Are you a hand cream person? I couldn’t live without mine!
