I’m excited to introduce quite a few new products in this post. First of all, the new makeup from Origins. I was recently introduced to this range and although excited I was a little sceptical at the thought of it. Origins is known for it’s amazing skincare and sometimes when skincare brands branch out to makeup it all goes terribly wrong. Luckily I was incorrect and I’m pleased to tell you that I LOVE the range.

The star product is the Ginzing Brightening mascara, which is supposed to lengthen and lift your lashes and is one of the best I’ve tried. It’s comparable to the Bourjois Volumiser as it has a massive brush and gives a lot of thickness as well as length. The formula includes caffeine which helps the lashes to look healthy and vibrant. I’d definitely recommend going to check it out as the brush is quite unique.

I also really like the new Plantscription foundation and I’m wearing in the shade 02 light neutral. It’s an anti-ageing foundation that super moisturising and gives a medium coverage, depending on how you apply it. I used my beloved buffing brush to apply it and it lasted around 10 hours which is longer than most foundations last on me. This foundation uses the soft focus technology that everyones going mad about at the moment, which is why it’s so good at disguising any fine lines or wrinkles. Another great thing about this foundation is that it’s available in 12 shades, which is a very decent amount. I’m pretty sure this will make an appearance in this month’s monthly favourites.

The foundation gives good enough coverage on blemishes but I used a little of their new Plantscription anti-ageing concealer for under my eyes and I can tell you it blends beautifully. It reminds me of the Collection 2000 concealer in terms of coverage, but without the cakey dry patches that it sometimes gives. You can tell when using the foundation and concealer that unlike a lot of makeup, these are actually doing good for your skin and they feel nourishing.

Another new product to the range are the Ginzing cream eyeshadows and this one which is Gingerzing is very similar to MAC’s Bare Study. I wouldn’t recommend it as the best cream eye shadow I’ve tried, but it did create a nice base and was easy to apply with my finger. Just to add to this, I used my Satin Taupe eyeshadow along the top lash line.

On my face I was so excited to use my new Burberry bits. The Warm Glow bronzer is a lovely bronzer, which I used to contour with. It gives a really nice subtle warmth to the face and is easy to build up. I then used the lighter shades from the Sheer Summer Glow palette as a highlight along my cheekbones. Both products used together are just pure perfection for summer makeup. To add a bit of colour I used MAC’s Blush Baby which is a nice natural blush colour. Nothing on the lips… sometimes it’s just not necessary.

So what do you think? Any of these products make you squeal with excitement?

DIY: Lip Balm Palette https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/07/diy-lip-balm-palette.html https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/07/diy-lip-balm-palette.html#disqus_thread Thu, 26 Jul 2012 10:30:00 +0000 http://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/diy-lip-balm-palette/

I have a problem with throwing away nice packaging and this empty Bobbi Brown Concealer palette had been sitting in my room for months. I randomly one day decided I wanted to find away to reuse it… and then the lip balm palette was born!

This really isn’t ground breaking and VERY easy to do, but I was quite pleased with myself so I thought I’d show you how I did it.

Step 1: Clean out the palette using a cotton wool bud and some water or makeup remover.

Step 2: Take a little spoon a scoop a bit of your favourite lip balm out of it’s pot and place into the empty palette.

Step 3: Use the back of the spoon to smooth down the lip balm and fill out the pan, kinda like when you smooth icing onto a cake!

Step 4: Once you’ve filled the space with the lip balm, tidy up the edges using a cotton wool bud and then place the palette in the fridge (with the lid slightly open) so the lip balm can set a bit.

Step 5: Remove from fridge after about 30 minutes (or whenever you remember) and you’re done! Your two favourite lip balms are ready for your handbag.

You may think, is there really much difference than just taking two lip balms in your bag, but there is to me because I like this packaging better than a big pot… and there’s a mirror!

So there’s my mini DIY lip balm palette.. what do you think? Will you be trying it?

Another video today… this time, my first empties video! I see a lot of people on Twitter asking what the point of empties videos are and why anyone would want to look through someone’s empty bottles. For me, these videos are for talking about what I thought of the product and if I’d repurchase it.

I hope you enjoy it and for more details on products, click to watch it on YouTube.

Shopping Spree! https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/03/shopping-spree.html https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/03/shopping-spree.html#disqus_thread Thu, 22 Mar 2012 13:35:00 +0000 http://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/shopping-spree/

I’ve been buying far too much recently. Working in town is really bad for my bank balance! I’ve had quite a few video requests so here’s one on all the bits I’ve bought recently.
Hope you like it!

The best of 2011 https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/01/the-best-of-2011.html https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2012/01/the-best-of-2011.html#disqus_thread Sun, 01 Jan 2012 13:49:00 +0000 http://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/the-best-of-2011/

Blusher: SMASHBOX Fusion Soft Lights is the perfect blusher for me and looks really natural on. I wear this pretty much everyday for work.
Foundation: Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua has been my favourite foundation this year as it’s appropriate for so many different occasions. I wear the shade B20 Beige Tendre. It makes your skin look flawless whilst still looking natural. It’s also really easy to apply with your hands.
Face Primer: The Laura Mercier fondation primer is by far the best primer I have tried. I use it every single day and without it my makeup disappears after an hour. It’s light and fragrance free – without this primer there’s no point in applying any of my other makeup.
Eye Shadow: This year I was introduced to the new LOOK makeup range and have loved using the Triple Hit in La Luxe. The shadows are really pigmented and are the perfect everyday shades.
Concealer: The Bobbi Brown corrector wins hands down. Creamy, perfect colour match, long-wearing and easy to apply. This completely covers my dark circles and I couldn’t live without it.
Lips: This year I bought my first matte lipstick – MAC’s Chili. It’s a gorgeous deep, rust red which I’ve worn lots throughout the Winter. I also discovered Revlon’s Lip Butters and my favourite shade at the moment is 001 Pink Truffle.
Mascara: I recently bought the Makeup For Ever Smoky Lash mascara from Sephora and it beats any mascara I’ve used before. It makes my lashes look thick and long in only a few strokes.

Eye Primer: Far better than any of it’s competitors, the MUA eye primer makes my eye shadows apply much better and last much longer – and it’s so cheap!!

Eye Liner: Soap & Glory released their new makeup range this year and my favourite thing from the collection is the Super Cat liquid felt tip eye liner. It’s really easy to use and creates a thick black line that doesn’t budge all day.
Brushes: My 3 favourite brushes from this year are the Japonesque 324, MAC 214 and the Sephora airbrush concealer brush. The Japonesque brush is incredibly soft and picks up so much product, the MAC brush applies eye shadow perfectly under the bottom lash line and the Sephora brush is bigger than the average concealer brush making it really easy to blend in product under the eye.
Happy New year everyone! Hope you like my product round up – are any of these your favourite too?

Inside my makeup bag https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2011/11/inside-my-makeup-bag.html https://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/2011/11/inside-my-makeup-bag.html#disqus_thread Tue, 01 Nov 2011 15:27:00 +0000 http://www.lilypebbles.co.uk/inside-my-makeup-bag/ I thought I’d give you a peek into my daily makeup bag. These are my basic, essential products that I’m using at the moment. The blusher and eyeliner change regularly, but all of the others are staple products that I continue to buy again and again.

– My Osprey makeup bag that I got for my birthday last year. It’s a gorgeous soft leather with a lovely print inside.
– Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in sable, Laura Mercier primer, Oilatum natural repair face cream, Make Up Forever HD powder.
– Guerlain Terracotta bronzer,  Natural Collection blusher in Peach Melba.
– Bobbi Brown corrector and concealer in light bisque and beige
YSL luxurious mascara and Eyeko graffiti eyeliner pen.
These are my basic “make me look human” products… and then I also have a massive drawer full of extra goodies.
Do you use any of these products?
