TRIED & TESTED: HOLIDAY EDIT

It may have been a blogging-free holiday but that didn’t stop me from testing a few products whilst I was there. I always find holiday packing a great opportunity to throw in some minis I’d been meaning to try and finally give them a test drive. This trip I was met with some real winners and I’m so excited to share them with you that I’ve had to start writing this on the flight home!

The Elemis Hydra-Boost Day Cream was my moisturiser for the week and its definitely coming back with me for continued use at home. It has a really nice floral scent and adds instant hydration which is something my skin always craves, especially if I’ve been in the sun.

The other skincare treat that helped my skin through a very hot week was the Pai Camomile & Rose cleanser. It’s a creamy cleanser so a little goes a long way and I found it to be really soothing on my skin, As I wasn’t wearing much makeup during the week I can’t confirm how good it is at removing it but It definitely made my skin feel great.

For my body I became completely addicted to the Vichy After Sun. I kept it in the fridge in our room during the day so that in the evening after my shower the cream would be cooled and would really sooth the skin from the sun. Burning is a terrible idea but if you do burn a little, this will really help. It’s also just great to moisturise the skin, prolong your tan and prevent any peeling. I love the packaging too, it’s an all-round great body product.

Hair is my biggest concern on holiday (as ridiculous as that sounds). It’s always been an absolute pain to manage but after my recent keratin treatment I didn’t really know what to expect so I had to pack for all situations; a cream, a mousse, a gel… you name it, I took it! I found the Phyto Plage range worked really well to protect my hair from the constant exposure to the sun, chlorine and salt water. Between the Sun Veil proteting spray and the damage repair spray, I found the protector to be the best. It’s like a spray oil and I found using this throughout the day made my hair dry better after swimming and prevented as much frizz when it dried in the sun. I also really enjoyed using the Umberto Giannini Scrunching Jelly. When it comes to curly hair products I can’t listen to any marketing waffle, I simply go by recommendation from curly friends. This one came highly recommended from a friend and as I’d never tried the brand I wanted to give it a go. I really liked using it as it’s really easy to spread through wet hair. It dries a little crispy but unlike mousse it quickly softens up and you’re left with soft but frizz free curls (in most places). I still struggle with the top half of my hair, but with half of my hair clipped up it looked quite nice!

Which holiday beauty products have you discovered this year?
