A Lighter Base

I nearly managed to completely avoid the CC cream thing. It just wasn’t something that appealed to me after already finding some BB creams I like, it just seemed like an unnecessary marketing exercise to bring out CC creams. For me though, nothing sells a product to me better than someone who you admire saying they love it and that happened in this video

After Lisa raved about the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream I had to give it a go… just to see. It’s very different from anything I currently have in my stash and is a lot lighter than I expected. I usually put BB and CC creams in the tinted moisturiser category but this one is even lighter than most of my tinted moisturisers.

In the end I chose shade 31 Ivory which is a good match and I used my fingers to apply it. Using a buffing brush doesn’t work as well and tends to just absorb most of the product, leaving not much on your face. I worked it in with my fingers in sections until I had covered all the areas where I wanted coverage. I was wearing this CC cream in this video if you would like to see what it looked like on the skin. Applying it, it felt more like the true meaning of a tinted moisturiser, something a bit like the Origins VitaZing

The idea of the ‘CC’ is to colour correct and it includes 3 different pigments; apricot for anti-fatigue, green for anti-redness and white for anti-dark spots. I think these are very subtle and I wouldn’t expect this to cover dark spots, but I think the three shades in the formula work together to help to give an overall luminous complexion.

I wouldn’t wear it on an every day basis but it’s one I’d keep for when I’m in warmer climates. I think it’s the perfect base for younger skin if you’re at school and like to wear makeup this is light, subtle but gives a little bit of coverage to even things out.

Have you tried the Bourjois CC cream yet? I’d love to hear your thoughts on it.
