TASTY BEAUTY BITS

Let’s not lie to ourselves, we love browsing the ingredients list and we love a good old back of the hand test, but when it comes down to it if a product smells good, we want it. I’ve gathered together a few of my favourite tasty beauty bits so if you’re feeling hungry, look away now.

Kiehl’s Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter
This is an incredibly luxurious, thick body butter that I love using in the colder months. It comes in a huge tub that seems to last forever, but you will only like this if you like sweet scents. It pretty much smells like a big tub of dessert, but although it’s sweet it’s not at all artificial which is something I really dislike. It moisturises the skin quickly with little effort required and you’re left smelling absolutely delicious.

LUSH Melting Snowman Bath Melt
Every year I look forward to LUSH’s Christmas offerings, especially the very cute Melting Snowman. As well as the cocoa and shea butter, the snowman’s main ingredient is almond oil which leaves your skin feeling really soft and moisturised. My favourite part though, is the dairy-free chocolate drops used for his eyes and buttons. Real chocolate in my bath? Yes please.

Jo Malone English Pear & Freesia / Jo Malone Bitter Orange & Chocolate
Jo Malone are brilliant at incorporating edible scents into their fragrances and these are the ones that instantly sprung to mind. English Pear & Freesia is one of their fruity scents and a classic from their collection. The scent of fresh, just-ripe pears is the perfect compliment to the other floral notes in the fragrance. Bitter Orange & Chocolate came out in their Sugar & Spice collection and I instantly fell in love. It’s not as easy to wear as my other scents because it literally smells like orange chocolate, but it’s my guilty pleasure and I love to wear it. I’m still undecided on whether the scent of chocolate is actually nice on the skin, but I enjoy this one so I use it as my ‘at-home’ perfume.

NUXE Reve de Miel lip balm
This is the least scented of the them all, but the honey ingredient doesn’t go a miss, it’s in fact what makes it so great. If you’re after a moisturising lip balm with a matte finish, this is the one for you. It’s great to wear under lipsticks or to use as an evening treatment before bed. Honey attracts and retains moisture so it’s the perfect ingredient for a lip balm and I’d really recommend this one.

Malin + Goetz Dark Rum Candle
Rum… maybe not a scent we crave as much, but nevertheless this is a beautiful candle. It has top notes of bergamot and plum, middle notes of rum and leather and base notes of amber-patchouli and vanilla. I keep this on my desk and it fills the room with warmth, comfort and a rich, deep scent. I’m completely addicted…. to the candle, not rum. Just to be clear.
