K WEST HOTEL & SPA // LONDON

One question I often get asked on Twitter is “do you have any hotel recommendations in London” and it’s one a struggle to find the answer to. As a full time Londoner I have never really needed to stay in a London hotel but I was recently asked to stay at the K West Hotel & Spa in West London and so I thought it would be a good opportunity to trial out a London hotel (and have a bit of chill out time with some lovely friends at the same time).

K West is a 2 minute walk from Westfield Shepherd’s Bush so I was expecting a really urban, buzzing atmosphere but the hotel is actually placed on a nice, quiet residential road just across from the shopping centre. It looks small from the outside but actually goes 2 floors underground and 4 floors up.

I felt like it sat somewhere between a boutique hotel and a chain hotel. The room was lovely with comfy beds, big windows, a full length mirror, a desk, a decent sized wardrobe and the bathroom was really nice too. It was a pleasure to spend time in there carrying out my extensive skincare routine, I may have even thrown in an extra mask that night!

What makes the hotel really great is the spa (can you hear the angels singing?). We were all treated to a 1 hour full body massage using my favourite Aromatherapy Associates oils. The therapist sat me down beforehand to find out how I was feeling and what sort of massage experience I’d like. In the end she picked the Deep Relax oil which is one my favourites that I regularly use at home. After the most amazing massage we spent a couple of hours in the wet spa full on relaxing. There was a giant jacuzzi, steam rooms, saunas, foot spas and a snow room… yes, a snow room. The idea is to go into a sauna, get all hot and then go into the snow room (which is filled with real snow) and rub it onto your skin to help with circulation. It was cold and a snow fight may have taken place… but we quickly regained our dignity and headed back into the spa for another hour or so. On the way out I spotted they had GHD straighteners in the changing rooms and it’s the little details like that that really make a good trip.

So what else can I tell you? We may have snuck out for a late night browse in the Westfield Boots (best Boots ever!), but as soon as we got back into our room the pjs and slippers were on and girly chat began and didn’t end until 1am when we passed out (face masks on).

K West is the perfect hotel for a girly weekend and after looking at some of the hotel’s suites I think it would make a great couples getaway too! I felt like I was on holiday whilst I was there, so I’d even recommend this for Londoners as a treat. Although it was a good detox for three internet obsessed bloggers, it was a shame that there wasn’t free wifi in the rooms or a fully stocked mini bar, but those are really the only negatives I could find. I had a really nice time and would definitely recommend it!
