BLOGGING ON THE GO

Within the past of couple of months I’ve updated my techy stash so I thought I’d give you an update. I recently sold my Macbook Pro and instead bought a Macbook Air. I don’t use it as my main computer but simply as something to use when I am away from my office, travelling etc. I got the 11″ and 128GB and it’s seriously mini. It won’t be any good for constant video and photo editing but for on the go, it’s amazing! It fits perfectly in my handbag and weighs less than an iPad. You can see the size compared to an A5 magazine in the photo above. The smallest air doesn’t come with a slot for your memory card so I ordered this USB converter from Amazon and it works fine.

Something else I’ve recently invested in is the Canon EOS M. I love my Canon 600d and use it for filming all my videos and taking all my blog photos but something I always struggle with is taking it out to beauty launches, restaurants, markets, travelling etc. Apart from the fact it’s really heavy and doesn’t fit in my bag, it’s also really not discreet so when I take photos in intimate spaces I either get strange looks or people posing (awkward). I sold my Canon G12 because for me the quality wasn’t good enough and didn’t compare to SLR quality but the Canon EOS M is a compact SLR so the quality is exactly the same but it’s really small. It comes with a mini kit lens and you can buy an adaptor to add on your usual SLR lenses. There’s no viewfinder, but apart from that it’s perfect and I’m so happy with it. It fits in my handbag, it’s easy to carry around but I don’t have to sacrifice the quality of my photos. The only negative I’ve found is that the auto focus can be a little slow and temperamental. After updating it on my computer it has improved but is still a little annoying at times.

Sorry for the techy geek post but I thought some of you may be interested in the travelling combo I’ll be taking away with me. I’m really happy with them both and don’t regret any of my buying/selling decisions.

A huge disclaimer, you do not need this to blog on the go, this is something I’ve been saving for and it works for me but for the last 4 years I’ve been finding other ways to make it work.
