THE MIX: DETOX & MOISTURE

My skin hasn’t been behaving so well recently and I’ve been getting a few blemishes here and there. I always have dehydrated skin and that hasn’t changed so I’ve been reaching for these two masks to combat both problems in a quick duo-mask session a couple of nights a week.

I start with the Aesop Parsley Seed masque which is still one of my favourites for detoxing the skin when I have a few blemishes. I leave it on for 15 minutes until it dries and then gently soak it off with a damp muslin cloth. My skin feels really fresh, cleansed and revitalised afterwards but because of my dehydration it can also sometimes feel a little tight, this is where the moisture mask comes in.

The Aveda Intensive Hydrating Masque was one Caroline mentioned in this amazing video with Pixiwoo. She says that it’s like an intense version of Hydraluron and I completely agree. It has the same cooling gel-like texture with hyaluronic acid that instantly hydrates your skin. It says to leave this on for 5-10 minutes then wipe of with a damp cloth but sometimes I let it completely sink into the skin and simply wipe off any excess. I’m not sure if this is allowed but when my skin is really thirsty I like to leave it to really get into the skin.

I’ve been loving this duo at the moment and it’s been helping my slightly weather confused skin.

Have you ever tried using a cleansing clay mask followed by a moisture mask?
