SHE MADE ME DO IT

I may be a blogger but I am also an avid blog reader and have been for about five years. I religiously read my favourite blogs every day and find myself constantly inspired and enabled to try new things. A lot of the writers behind the blogs I read have become good friends of mine and we find ourselves constantly chatting about beauty and when they recommend a product to me I usually run straight out to buy it because I trust their opinion completely. It’s not about copying each other or wanting to buy something to blog about, it’s just about beauty junkies wanting to try products that are great because as sad as it may seem it genuinely makes us happy.

Here’s a little selection of products that were bought after a fellow blogger either wrote a raving review about it or forced me into a shop to buy it. Some of these have become my all time favourites so a public thank you and a ‘share the love’ needed to happen!

Fleur is always recommending amazing products but one that I am always thankful for is the Unite 7 Seconds Detangler. She mentioned it in this video in 2011 and I’ve been repurchasing it ever since. It smells amazing and can get knots out of the most tangled hair!

Anna is my biggest enabler as I’m sure you all know and the list of products I’ve bought because of her is endless, but here are some of my favourites. Dr Bronner’s magic soap is incredible for washing makeup brushes, this was a last minute “go on” at the till in And Other Stories. The mini Oribe texturising spray lives in my handbag after she wrote this post and showed how incredible her hair looked after using it! After spritzing the Escentric Molecule ‘Molecule 01’ in Liberty’s she came to meet me for dinner and I literally couldn’t stop complimenting her on her perfume – another one in the basket. Finally the Chantecaille Just Skin which is one of her favourites and as the queen of tinted moisturisers I fully trust her base recommendations. Don’t be fooled though, she has amazing skin so she can get away with very sheer foundations!

I’d heard quite a bit about the Dior BB cream but after dinner with Jen at Wahaca and a good five minute rave about the stuff, I went straight to Boots to pick one up and I LOVE it!

You know that feeling when every time you hug your friend you think “MAN they smell good”, well this is how I felt with Gemma (is that creepy?!). After finding out her signature scent is Stella I had to try it for myself and fell in love with it. I snapped up a limited edition bottle and wear it every now and again, especially in the evenings (although I just feel like a Gemma impersonator when I do!).

Finally for skincare, most of my recommendations come from Caroline as she is the skincare goddess. Two bits that stand out that I picked up in France after her recommendation are the La Roche Posay Serozinc as a replenishing toner and the Cattier Paris green clay mask which is one of the best I’ve tried! After watching this video by Into The Gloss I was genuinely excited to wash my face. I added the La Roche Posay thermal spring water into my routine and although I’ve heard it’s not amazing for your skin, I quite like it to quickly dampen my face before cleansing.

So there’s just a few of the amazing products I’ve discovered through reading blogs and I highly recommend checking out all of these blogs if you don’t already know them.

What’s the best product you’ve discovered through reading beauty blogs?
