FROM ACROSS THE POND

For absolutely no reason at all, apart from because she’s a BABE, Amelia brought back some major goodies for me from her trip to New York. Now goodies from America are always exciting but when they’re bought by a beauty junkie who knows exactly what is and what isn’t available in the UK, then you’re really in for a treat. She came back with an incredible collection of amazing products for me to try so I thought I’d show you what was in the bag of dreams.

The first thing my eyes went straight to is the Milani baked blush in ‘Luminoso’ because I’ve heard Amelia and loads of American beauty bloggers talk about it. It’s a baked blush in a pretty peach shimmery shade. I’ve never tried anything from Milani before but the texture of this blush is really nice and smooth and you know how I feel about peach blushers, I love it!

Another cheek product and another brand I’ve wanted to try for a while is the ‘Poppy Paradise’ Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelée from Josie Maran. This is really different to anything I’ve tried before and it’s not like other cream blushers. Although the colour looks really vibrant, the texture feels like a lip balm and when you use your finger to apply it the colour comes out incredibly sheer. It leaves a watercolour stain that’s really fresh and natural looking.

We do have the L’Oreal Infallible eye shadows here but despite hearing great things about them I’ve never actually tried them. This one in ‘Bronzed Taupe’ is a shade that’s not out here yet and it’s like MAC ‘Satin Taupe’ without so much purple in it. If you haven’t tried them yet they’re basically pressed loose eyeshadow powders that are really buttery and pigmented.

Finally I got my hands on a US Maybelline Baby Lips after my disappointment with the Asian versions. The one I have is ‘Peach Kiss’ and it literally tastes like the smell of my Market Peach candle. It’s really yummy, but as everyone says, they’re just basic lip balms really.

Another lip product that she gave me is the L’Oreal Infallible le Rouge lipstick in ‘Coral Seduction’. The colour is an amazing orangey red and the tecture of the lipsticks are really soft to apply and leave a glossy finish. The colour is really opaque but doesn’t feel at all heavy on the lips.

The final gift and one I forgot to photograph because it already lives in my handbag is the Oscar Blandi Volumizing Dry Shampoo which is the perfect dry shampoo. It sprays clear, gives instant lift to the roots and makes the hair feel clean and fresh.

Unfortunately Amelia isn’t available for rent but if you have any friends going to America soon maybe they can bring some bits back for you too! I’m thoroughly impressed with all my bits from across the pond and am very jealous of everyone that lives in America. HUGE thanks to Amelia again!

Have you tried any of these products from across the pond?
