TOPSHOP HIGHLIGHTERS

On a recent trip to Topshop Oxford Circus I (as usual) found myself browsing the makeup section for any new exciting bits. The highlighters instantly caught me attention so I plonked myself on the floor, got comfy and started swatching away.

I’ve wanted to check out ‘Sunbeam’ for a while as the Pixiwoo sisters often use it in their tutorials and it always looks lovely. It’s a baked highlighter, it is true gold and is seriously pigmented. It says on the back ‘lightly dust on face & body’ and when they say lightly, they mean lightly! You only need a tiny amount and it really highlights well. This definitely won’t suit all skin tones as it’s very yellow, but it’s really pretty and does the job well.

When playing around with Sunbeam I saw it’s little friend ‘Glow’ nearby which comes in two shades, ‘Polished’ and ‘Gleam’. Glow is quite different to most highlighters you see on the high street, it’s a cream formula and is very light almost like a mousse. Gleam (described as gold) was a little too pink for me so I went with Polished which Topshop say is a white, I say is a pale champagne. Whatever the colour, it’s amazing. I use a tiny amount on my finger and blend it up onto my cheekbones, down my nose and on my cupid’s bow. It’s really easy to blend in with your other makeup and works well on my skin. This one is also incredibly pigmented which is why I really like both these highlighters. I often find that others can be too subtle, but these really show up on my skin and catch the light perfectly.

Have you tried either of these? I’d highly recommend them!
