Monday Mender: The Bath

Another Monday has arrived, but don’t worry we can get through this one together! After a manic day of catching up and prepping for the week ahead I like to spend my Monday evenings soaking myself in the bath for far too long until my fingers resemble something along the lines of a cocktail sausage.

I went a bit bath crazy on the Cult Beauty site recently and picked up three products that I knew I’d love. First up the Therapie Himalayan Detox Salts which is one of the amazing products created by aromatherapist Michelle Roques Oneil. I tried a small sample of these salts and was completely blown away by the results so had to buy the full size. The salts won’t give you a luxury bath as such, but the detox salts are magical, that’s the only way I can describe them! They help de-stress, they help with insomnia and apparently they help absorb radiation from mobile and computer use! I definitely felt detoxed after this bath and both my mum and I both experienced very detoxing symptoms afterwards (let’s not go into too much detail there!). You only need a small handful and they work a treat!

Next up is the Borghese Bagno di Vita bath soak that I saw featured on Jen’s blog. This comes with the cutest little scooper and you just need one scoop of flakes and it turns your entire bath into the most gorgeous teal blue. The name of this literally translates to ‘bath of your life’ which sums it up really. The Safflower oil and volcanic minerals makes you feel incredible both physically and emotionally, so I’d definitely recommend it.

I have been doing a lot of soaking recently which is amazing, but sometimes you also just want some good old bubbles. Word on the street (twitter) is that bubbles are “not good for your lady parts” (cheers Caroline!) but the Kai Bathing Bubbles are paraben and sulphate free and are full of lovely ingredients. Because of this though, you don’t get as many bubbles as you do with a traditional bubble bath and they disappear quicker. I did however like these and I’ll probably use these for when I’m not in the soak for hours mood.

The Jo Malone Red Roses Bath Oil is definitely the one for you if you’re a rose scent lover. I love oil baths because it cuts out the moisturising process afterwards, but it does mean sitting in a very clear bath which is not so fun. Jo Malone bath products are the ultimate treat though and the perfect present!

Finally the Life Drift Away Bath Milk which is the one I go for when my skin needs a bit of extra love and is feeling a bit dry. In the milk is almond oil, caster oil, sugar and active milk polypeptides which help make your skin all soft and lovely. The scent is lily, geranium, and violet with cedar and sweet vanilla. I think you’re either a milk bath fan or not, so if you are then maybe give this one a try!

So what will you be doing tonight when you get home from work? I think I know…
