GO BRIGHT OR GO HOME

Wearing a full on smokey eye with black eyeliner and all the works is a bit alien to me, I just can’t do it without looking completely over the top, so as you all know I usually opt for a neautral eye. The good thing with neautral eye makeup is that you can experiment with your lip colour throughout the day and nothing excites me more than a bright lip for Summer.

Here are five bright lipsticks that I’ll be wearing a lot this Summer (when it comes… if it ever does!).

My love for Revlon Lip Butters has reached another level recently especially after they brought out some new shades. Their moisturising, easy to apply and have amazing colour pay off. ‘Sweet Tart’ is the closest thing to bubblegum pink that I can wear without looking like Niki Minaj. It’s got quite a rosy tone to it rather than blue so I find it really flattering and it’s such a fun colour. ‘Wild Watermelon’ is one of their newer shades and it’s a beautiful raspberry pink. It’s hard to find lipsticks this shade so I think Revlon did really well and I know this shade will suit loads of people.

I’ve raved about the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in ‘Mightiest Maraschino’ but haven’t mentioned ‘Heftiest Hibiscus’ before. It’s a lip product I don’t wear enough, but I really love it. It’s a good orange for people who are a bit scared of orange. The red undertones make it easy to wear but it’s definitely orange and I think for Summer it’s pretty dreamy.

The YSL Rouge Volupté Shine in 19 popped up in one of Lisa Eldridge’s recent videos and I literally ran to my lip drawer to dig it out and have a play. There’s nothing like re-falling in love with a lip product! In the bullet it looks like a scary dark purple but once applied it’s a fuschia pink with purple tones. On Lisa it looked a lot more pink than it does on me so I think it depends on your natural lip colour. These lipsticks are beautiful to wear though, they’re really moisturising and taste incredible!

Finally the last one is ‘Central Park’ by Lipstick Queen that comes in the Liptropolis set. Lipstick Queen is a really lovely brand with a great story and I’ve met Poppy King who is really inspirational. I love this red because it’s a bit brighter, pinker and fruitier than most reds I’ve tried. The formula is creamy and easy to wear and they last really well on the lips.

So will you be going a bit brighter this Summer?
