THE CHOP

I have wanted to cut my hair short for about four years but it’s never really been an option. My hair has always been in such bad condition that it would have just puffed out and looked awful. I’ve spent the last year really looking after my hair by using really good quality shampoo and conditioner like Ojon, always using a heat protector and keeping it hydrated with oils and creams. It’s been feeling much better recently but the ends, as you can see in the first photo, were still straggly, split and dry. My hair has never been the same thickness all the way from root to tip and recently the ends have been looking thinner than ever. So I decided to finally do it and chop them off.

My lovely hairdresser (who now works freelance and comes to my house) cut it just to shoulder length keeping the front just a bit longer than the back. The most important part was when he cut into the ends so it looked choppier. I really didn’t want a straight bob cut as I knew it would look like a wig on me.

I love that with shorter hair I can use texturising sprays and really make it look messy. I have lots of experimenting to do! I’ve also got another appointment for next week to add a bit more blonde into the ends like it was before. For now I’m just enjoying having short hair… hopefully straightening it will take half an hour now rather than an hour!

I’m happy with it which is the most important, but I hope you guys like it too!
