HOURGLASS AMBIENT LIGHTING – THE EDIT

IMG_9847 IMG_9849It’s no secret that I’m a huge fan of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting powders, I’ve written about them here and here. I also bit the bullet and recently bought the trio of powders after the hype eventually died down and now I know what all the fuss was about when it was first released. I tend to use all three powders together for a cheekbone glow and I love it.

If you still haven’t tried one of these powders you may wonder what all the fuss is about, but seriously they are amazing. They feel really light on the skin and most of them (minus a few shimmery ones) give such a natural glow that I haven’t found with any other product.

So clearly Hourglass are aware of their popularity and are giving the palette loving people want they want. Let me introduce you to The Edit, the palette of dreams which is planned to be released in November just in time for Christmas (or available now on Sephora).

The palette features three of their ambient lighting powders, two of their blushers and one of their new bronzers. So I think the question is, if like me, you have two of the single powders, two of the blushers and the trio palette, do you really need this palette too? Well I think Hourglass have picked the shades so well that the answer might actually be yes.

Only one of the powders from the trio palette are the new one, Dim Light, a gorgeous, glowy warm peach powder. Next to Dim Light is Iridescent Light which is a bit too pink and shimmery for me and Diffused Light which is by far my favourite powder. They’ve picked the blusher shades well with Mood Exposure, my absolute favourite for a neutral, plum blush and Luminous Flush which I don’t yet have which is a brighter pink. They’ve also added one of their new bronzers, Luminous Bronze Light, but personally I’m not hugely fond of the shimmer in the bronzers. So two out of six I wouldn’t have picked myself but the other four are all great.

We visited an Hourglass shop in LA where you can customise your own palette so hopefully they’ll bring that over here soon, fingers crossed. Until then, this palette is beautiful and it really is a great edit. It’ll set you back £65 and will be out here in November at Liberty, Net-a-Porter, Space NK, Urban Retreat and select John Lewis.

Will you be adding it to your christmas wish list?
