HOW TO START A PROJECT LIFE SCRAPBOOK

When I briefly mentioned my 2014 scrapbook in my December Favourites video I didn’t expect such an amazing response! It was a project I started in January 2014 to fill a hobby gap I had and I’ve loved doing it. Not only is it a great way to remember to actually print and keep photos, but I found the whole process of scrapbooking incredibly relaxing to do in the evening.

Watch the video for all the details and let me know if you decide to start one yourself!

  6. This has been my favorite post you have ever done Lily. I have my own scrapbook where I keep little bits from me and my boyfriends traveling, like sea shells, concert tickets, plane tickets, cocktail twizlers, photos and lots more then surprised him with it. He had no idea I had even been collecting things. I love the brown paper idea, and the washy tape. Picked up some fab little ad on’s for my own.

I absolutely loved this video! I started a scrapbook about two years ago as I had been keeping a pinboard in my room and wanted to take it down so I boxed it all and bought a scrapbook for it. It’s not a yearly one just a collection of things and this has inspired me to go back to it and continue it! x

I loved the small peek into your PL album! I hadn’t realized that scrapbooking would be considered more an American thing. When you said it was I like…”huh interesting” lol. I’m one of those crazy scrapbookers from the US and I absolutely love doing Project Life! I find that it’s much less stressful if you do a “go with the flow” sort of album…just putting in photos and bits of journaling chronologically as they happen and don’t worry about doing it in months or weeks or anything. Just whatever you want to stick in to the pockets, just stick them in! You have a wonderful album for 2014 and I hope your 2015 book is just as great! Happy New Year!

Loved this idea so much.I always thought of scrapbooking as the extreme version where you would have to be super creative. I have thought about scrapbooking a bunch of times but it never seemed like it was going to work out. This video made it seem so much easier to scrapbook and make it seem not so intense.

Hi Lily, I have been inspired to start a scrapbook for all of our photos that we have just lying around or on camera and phones. My fiancée and I have been together for 11 years in February so im going to move our ‘box’ of memories…tickets etc into a scrapbook along with all photos of our two boys (doggies). Thank you for the inspiration and I love your blog and videos, Happy New Year!

I find it kind of funny, because my mum does something very similar, but only with photos, and makes one of each person. And she and my dad actually have their album from their mums, where they can see all their life! It actually became with less writing and only photos, but I was thinking just some days ago that I’d really like to do a more in depth one…like this! And now I have a name to call the project, lol!

Goes to see how much out of the loop am I. Thanks for the lovely video and inspiration!
