MAXFACTOR MODERN DECADE: THE 90s

Welcome back to week four and the final week of my Mani Month series! For the past few weeks I’ve been featuring different shades of Max Factor’s Gel Shine Lacquers, creating different ‘Modern Decade’ looks from their selection of colours.

I’m finishing the series with surprisingly one of my favourite decades, the 90s. Most of my childhood was spent in the 90s, The Spice Girls, Sabrina the Teenage Witch… just anything Nickelodeon reminds me of the 90s! But whilst I was still colourful (and tacky) the older generation were becoming more chic, opting for rich, deeper and more sophisticated shades like burgundy and deep wine.

I wear deep, red nails quite a lot and love how it looks. It’s less contrasting than a bright red and looks really smart. For this nail look I mixed two shades to create something unique for me. For the first coat I used ‘Radiant Ruby’, a dark red that’s great for paler skin tones, and on top of that I layered ‘Sparking Berry’ for a slight berry tint.

“A nostalgic lineup of updated grunge, Sparkling Berry and Sheen Merlot are boundless perfection with ultra-dark jewel tones in rich burgundy shades that’ll add instant glamour to nails.”

It’s a shade I always go back to no matter what time of year and I’d recommend trying it yourself! If you do,  tweet me your photos using the #ManiMonday hashtag!
