CRANBERRY BURST

My MAC palette is 90% neutrals and 10% brights, but as expected I spend most my time reaching for the browns and soft shimmers. On the weekend I thought I’d experiment and use a bright eyeshadow I’ve had in my palette for well over a year, Cranberry.

Cranberry is a raspberry/burgundy that applies as a really bright shade which makes it quite intimidating to use. If it’s a shade you also struggle with, here are some tips on how I like to wear it…

Brown is a shade I feel comfortable with and luckily, it blends perfectly with Cranberry. I like to start by applying Cranberry all over the lid, packing it on quite strong so the shade is vibrant. I then like to blend Satin Taupe into the crease and outer corner, as well as under the eye. Satin Taupe is slightly brown, but because of the purple tones in it it seems to blend really easily with Cranberry without being too much of a contrast. To further deepen the colour, I like to blend Twinks right into the outer corner. Twinks is a shimmering brown but again, with deep red undertones.

I was really happy with the finished look, it’s something different but not too scary! If you were looking to try something new for Autumn, I think this is an easy eye look that stands out in a nice way.
