WHAT’S ON MY FACE #28

This week’s face was majorly inspired by Barbara and her green smokey eye tutorial! I love wearing green as it’s the one colour that brown eyed girls can actually say is ‘our thing’. It’s a really easy way to add some colour into your makeup whilst still looking quite neutral.

So let’s start with the base, I thought I’d try something I don’t use that often which is the Shiseido Sun Protection liquid foundation. The texture feels like the Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua but once you start blending it into your skin with your fingers it thickens up and gives more of medium coverage. My usual corrector and concealer duo were used before bronzing up using the Bobbi Brown All Over Bronzing Gel. This stuff looks really scary and it is pretty dark, so I just used a tiny amount and dabbed it on my cheekbones, temples and down my nose before blending it out with a stippling brush. It gave a really natural bronze but paler girls be aware, it’s dark stuff!

To keep the rest of the face quite simple I used MAC Blush Baby for a natural blush and Chanel’s Illuminating powder for a subtle highlight. On my lips I wore Urban Decay’s ‘Native’ lipstick, which is a pretty pinky peach.

The main eyeshadow I used was MAC ‘Olive’ all over the lid before adding ‘Green Smoke’ into the outer corners. Olive is a beautiful light green shade and green smoke is a darker brown-toned green. To define the eyes I used MAC ‘Teddy’ eyeliner across the lash line and my current favourite YSL Babydoll mascara for super long lashes.

I took this face with me to the theatre and it served me well! What do you think of green smokey eyes?
