SWEAT PROOF MAKEUP

If you’re not from the UK but you follow UK bloggers you are probably really bored of hearing us talk about the weather. I apologise in advance, but seriously it hasn’t been this hot since 2006!

It’s amazing to feel like you’re in LA when you wake up the morning BUT the humidity is seriously not good for your hair and makeup. For the past couple of weeks I’ve been reaching for my primers and products with long lasting formulas to avoid any makeup melting disasters.

The Spackle Trio from Laura Geller has been so handy, it comes with a priumr for your face, eyes and lips. The face primer reminds me of the Laura Mercier, it’s easy to spread and feels cooling and non-greasy on the skin. The eye and lip primer duo in the lid works a treat, no eyeshadow creasing and the lip primer is great if you’re wearing a bright lip as it neutralises your lip colour. After being blown away by this primer I ordered a Laura Geller Waterproof Eye Spackle Hue in ‘Mink Mademoiselle’. It comes in a YSL-esque packaging and applies really easily on the lid, just make sure you blend quickly because this stuff does not budge once it sets. I applied some on my hand as a test and held it directly under the tap, I even tried to rub it off and it didn’t move!

I spoke about the Estée Lauder Cello Shots here and this has been my favourite blusher in the heatwave. I haven’t yet found a perfect waterproof mascara but for natural lashes I’ve been enjoying the Clinique Waterproof High Impact mascara. Luckily my favourite eyeliner is also really good at surviving hot temperatures, the Make Up For Ever Aqua line is seriously good and worth trying out if you can find it!

Cream products tend to fall off my face so for my lids I’ve been using the Rimmel eyeshadow paints that I spoke about here. They don’t move at all and ‘Rich Russet’ is a gorgeous bronze shade. Finally a new product I’ve been using, the Smashbox Hydrating Under Eye Primer. If you have a problem with concealer creasing, this is for you. It smooths out the area ready for concealer to be applied on top and really helps prevent any creasing, which is not a good look.

If you too are trying to look half decent in a heatwave, I hope this post helped you. Now if anyone has discovered a solution for S.U.L.A (sweaty upper lip alert), let me know… cheers.
