Estée Lauder Pure Color Cello Shots

Nothing pleases me more than cute packaging and these new ‘blusher shots’ from Estée Lauder are visual perfection. Small, hand sized shots fully equipped with a pump for only £24 which is very reasonable for a luxury brand!

So what are they? Sheer, water-based gel blushers that sit somewhere between a cheek stain and a liquid blush. When I first swatched these on my hand I didn’t get the fuss at all, they smeared all over my hand leaving a huge red stain that looked awful. Once I did a bit of research and experimented some more I found the perfect way to use them and now I’m in love!

I like to pump a very small amount on the back of my hand and then with my middle finger I dab a small amount onto my cheek and quickly pat and blend the colour where I want it. You have to be really quick because once dry they really do stain the skin, but this is why they’re so great and long lasting. The four colours look terrifying but you can either wear them very sheer, build up the colour or you can mix the shades to create your own! I’m wearing ‘Hot Fuse’ above and because it’s quite red it just looks like my cheeks are a bit flushed.

I’m a huge fan and after recently falling in love with the Jose Maran Water Colour Cheek Gelée I have a feeling this new gel/water blush craze is one I will definitely enjoy. They’re basically a way to get colour and hydration in one hit!

So will you be doing any shots anytime soon?
