ESTÉE LAUDER ADVANCED NIGHT REPAIR II

Loyal ANR fans, this may freak you out a bit… Estée Lauder have reformulated their award winning Advanced Night Repair and replaced it with a brand spanking new, souped up version. Don’t fear though, as far as I can tell it’s only adding to the original formula and nothing great has been taken away.

For those of you who have no idea what I’m talking about, Estée Lauder’s Advanced Night Repair serum is a cult beauty product, selling 1 every 8.5 seconds.

Estée Lauder discovered scientific research decades ago that showed that night time is the best time for the skin to repair the damage made during the day, this is when ANR was born. In recent years though they have once again discovered ground breaking technology to do with the skin’s cells’ Catablysis, which is a critical nighttime cellular repair process. This is what they’ve used to create the new Synchronized Recovery Complex II.

In a nutshell, this serum helps hydrate your skin as well as repair any damage done throughout the day from pollution and UV rays. Using anti-oxidants it helps to prevent environmental damage from visually effecting the skin and the Hyaluronic Acid creates the optimal condition that the skin needs to maximise it’s natural renewal processes.

I only received this product a few days ago so I’m not able to give my full opinion on it yet, but so far the only noticeable difference is a slightly thinner texture, which is something I really like. I loved the original, despite not being a huge fan of pippets. I personally think it’s refreshing to see a huge brand take a cult product they’ve been selling for decades and admit that it needs an update and not just leaving it as it is for convenience. Good on them!

It’s currently previewing on the Estée Lauder website here and will be available on counters nationwide from August.
