B.Y.O Cheese Party

Saturday, 22 December 2012

It's great to have people over for parties, but it can get expensive and I know from experience how the supermarket bill can really add up when you buy enough food and drink for all the guests. Last week my sister and her husband hosted a BYO Cheese Party and I thought it was a brilliant idea.

It was a small get together with friends and everyone was asked to bring a cheese, meat and drink of their choice. When guests arrived their food was put on display and a little toothpick sign was made with the name of the cheese.

All that was needed were some grapes, chutneys, bread and crackers and you have yourself a Bring Your Own Cheese Party!

I ate myself to cheese heaven that night and well, it was one to remember. So if you're struggling for what food to serve at your next get together, I think this is a great idea!

Mmmm... cheeeeeese.

  6. Absolutely love red wine and cheese at what we fashionably call "apéro dînatoire" in France... Just to let you know: if that's what I think it is, the French cheese is spelled "comté". It's one of my very favourites :)
    Have a merry Christmas! xxx

  17. I'm someone who's only ever eaten cheddar or edam cheese throughout my life. Can somebody recommend a nice, fancier beginners cheese that will ease my way up into different varieties of cheese out there?

  23. I did this for my house warming party last year! It was so good, everyone loved it and it's become an annual event :) We only had two people who brought the same, but thankfully everyone brought two or three different ones so there was still a great selection x

  24. What a great idea - I had a few gatherings when my boyf and I rented our flat and the buffet food always cost a small fortune. I'll definitely be giving this BYO cheese idea a go!
