Origins Drink Up vs Dr Jart+ Sleeping Mask

Origins Drink Up Intensive £20  |  Dr Jart+ Water-Max Sleeping Mask £26*

A few weeks ago I was introduced to the Dr Jart+ skincare line. As you probably know, I’m a big fan of their BB Creams, in fact they’re probably the best BB creams I’ve tried so as a skincare junkie, I was excited to see what they had to offer.

The line is split into six categories: trouble skin, dry skin, dark skin, pores care, anti-ageing and sensitive skin.

The product that immediately caught my eye was the sleeping mask, as you all know I absolutely love the Origins Drink Up Intensive mask so I was intrigued how it would compare. Well, Sunday night I put it to the test!

The packaging looks great, although I found it a little hard to manoeuvre and not as easy to squeeze the right amount onto your hand. I started applying it to my clean face (after cleansing and 20 minutes before bed) and straight away noticed it is a lot thinner and watery than the Origins. It feels incredibly cooling to apply which is nice, but you do have to be quick to avoid any dripping. After applying it all over my face I could feel that my skin was quickly drinking it and it was sinking into my skin. By the time I went to sleep it had soaked into my skin and my face felt dry. The good thing about this is that I can sleep on my side without ruining the mask and my pillow. The bad thing is that it didn’t feel as luxurious as the Origins mask and that it would be doing as much for my skin throughout the night. The thing I like about the Origins mask is that it’s incredibly thick and takes all night for your skin to drink it all up and in the morning it’s gone.

Honestly, I still prefer my Origins but it is so hard to beat and I think Dr Jart+ did pretty well trying. Dr Jart+ is really easy to get hold of in most Boots stores, so it’s worth checking out their new skincare range. I still think it’s pretty nice! The Origins mask is cheaper so I’d recommend it first, but if for some reason you don’t like it then it’s worth trying out this Dr Jart+ one for something a bit more like a traditional moisturiser.

Have you tried any Dr Jart+ skincare yet?
