Benefit The POREfessional £23.50*

This primer has been spoken about LOADS on blogs. Unlike a lot of people, I'm definitely a primer person and it's a step I'd never miss out in my daily makeup routine - so I was desperate to try it. After trying it a few times on my hand at counters, I was unsure it would really work for me. I recommended it to a few friends who I thought it would work well for, but for me personally I usually prefer water based primers like the Laura Mercier one.

When the opportunity arose I jumped at the chance to try it as it really has such a hype around it. It's described as a "silky, lightweight balm for translucent pore coverage and smoother-than-smooth skin", so I was slightly surprised to see that it in fact has a slight tint of colour to it. The colour seems to disappear when you apply it, so it works for all skin colours. It feels slightly thicker than I'm used to so I just applied it to the centre of my face. The texture is quite strange; it feels silky and maybe slightly greasy but then as soon as you apply it, it disappears into the skin and completely smooths everything out.

It worked really well to keep my foundation in place and felt nice and lightweight on my skin. The price point is quite high at £23.50, but I currently spend £28 on my Laura Mercier primer so it doesn't really bother me!

The POREfessional is available from Feel Unique with free worldwide delivery here. I think Benefit did pretty well with this and so far it seems to be a pretty popular product!

Have you tried this primer? What do you think of it? Do you use a primer??

  1. Use it all the time, I absolutely adore it! I was worried about the tint as well since I'm really pale but it's no problem :)

  3. I really like it, I used to use the Smashbox primer but I like how this slightly blurs pores. I kind of want to try the Laura Mercier one now though! Which do you prefer? x

  5. I was eyeing this up at the benefit counter yesterday but the hefty price tag put me off. Also I use the Body Shop mattifying day cream which is a great base for makeup and seems to work like a primer. And it's only £9!

It's good to read in depth and honest reviews about products, so thank you!

  6. good post, thanks!

I debated buying this one too! I've never used a primer before, but i'm keen to. I would love one that holds my foundation in place til the end of the day!
Would you recommend this one or any other that might be good for that?

    Thanks!

  20. I use this under my make up every morning and its great but I prefer using it over my make up during the day. After a good few hours doing work when make up goes abit 'dodgy' I just brush a pea sized amount of this over my t zone and it makes my make up look sooo fresh again! I keep it with me all the time now, and I leave myfoundation and concealer at home :) xxx

  22. I used to use this all the time but I found it to be quite drying after a while and I'm not overly keen on rubbing silicone based products into my skin. I love the effect of it but I've now switched to The Present by Philosophy which is my holy grail primer and you get a lot of product for your ££. I'd definitely like to try the Laura Mercier one though. Lx

  27. This is on my wish list! I owned it a few years back and really loved it but then I stopped using primers for absolutely ages and chucked it out in a clear out. I'll have to repurchase soon :)

  28. This is amazing! I have quite large pores and it covers them brilliantly! I like that it's tinted because I don't really like foundation, do its perfect to use on its own!
