Tea and Cookies

Completely irrelevant post title – just what I’m really craving whilst typing this.

I am still loving my Liz Earle hot cloth cleanser and use it most evenings, but I’ve tried out a couple of new products recently that have made me raise my eyebrows.

ARK is a skincare brand that was started in South West London. They focus on ‘age appropriate’ products rather than focusing on skin types. I found this really interesting and really looked forward to trying their ‘age prepare teens to early 30s’ range. I was impressed by all the products but the one that really stood out for me was the Skin Clear Cleanser

The first thing I noticed is that it’s massive! It comes in a nice, clean bottle with a pump. When you pump out the cleanser it looks like a clear gel and as you rub it into your skin (I do this with my fingers in circular motions) it lathers up slightly and is easy to spread around your face. The smell is gorgeous and reminds me of aromatherapy oils. I then take a muslin cloth, soak it in warm water and gently wipe off the cleanser. It left me feeling really clean and fresh. I usually remove my eye makeup before cleansing as I don’t really like to rub my eyes, so I can’t comment on how well it removes eye makeup, but it did remove all the makeup on my face really well. I was seriously impressed and have been using this every other day since. It is £22 for 200ml, which is a mid-range price I’d say.

I really didn’t know what I was in for before trying the Malin + Goetz detox face mask

I pumped out some of the white product and applied it all over my face. It says to leave it on for 5 minutes until dissipation begins (I definitely had to google dissipation – still didn’t understand). After about 3 minutes my face started fizzing (I guess that’s what dissipation means). It wasn’t painful or anything, it just felt slightly strange. The product looks as if it is bubbling on your skin and after 5 minutes you just wash it off with warm water. It is supposed to lift dirt, oil and makeup off your skin whilst sealing in hydration. I didn’t notice a sudden difference, but after using it a few nights in a row I did notice my skin feeling firm and deeply cleansed. This is definitely something I’ll use on a weekly basis; it only takes 5 minutes and is quite fun! It retails for £29 which is quite expensive, but I guess that’s because of all the ingredients and science that go into the product.

My skin has never felt and looked better after all of this attention!

What do you think of these products? Will you be trying any of them?

Thanks for all the Marie Claire votes by the way! I’ve had loads of people tweeting me about it and I really appreciate it.
