Tried & Tested

So in my last post about iFabbo I told you about the event itself and showed you some of the products we were given. Well it has been over a week and I have been testing some of the products regularly since the event.

Although since then I have learnt it can be used on all skin types, when I received the Murad acne products I gave them away to a friend straight away. I am lucky to have never suffered from spots or acne, so I thought this wasn’t for me. I was very happy to see a large moisturiser and the pomegranate lip protector which I had my eye on throughout the event.

Murad Anti-Aging Moisturiser SPF 20: This is a really nice moisturiser and I have really enjoyed using it. It is spf 20 which is so great as it will really protect the skin during the day. It smells really fresh and is a light, thin consistency, which encourages me to use it on my neck, which is something I don’t usually do with my usual moisturiser. After using it I have a lovely feeling on my face and it leaves me feeling revitalised. This is a product I will definitely keep using.

Murad Energizing Pomegranate Lip Protector SPF 15: I was really excited to try this product, but if I’m honest I was quite disappointed with the results. The smell is pleasant, although a little too over powering for me. It is the actual texture of the product which I dislike. It is very thick and sticky, which is something I try to avoid for my lips. I like the colour and I like that it is SPF 15… but this is unlikely to be something I will use, as the stickiness will drive me mad.

Colbert MD nourish Eye Cream: I really love this eye cream. I am always more cautious about using new eye creams as it is such a sensitive area on my face, but I have been very happy with the results. As well as the product itself being nice to apply, I have actually seen proper results. My dark circles have definitely started to disappear which is really great as I hate them!

Collection 2000 Cream Puff: When I saw this product in the bag I thought maybe it was just a standard ‘drugstore’ lip gloss, so I whipped out the applicator and started pilling it on my lips. Straight away I realised this was no standard lip gloss. It is pretty hard to explain this product, but it is definitely unlike anything I have tried before. When you apply it, it comes out really soft and smooth and it dries matte straight away. You are easily left with a soft, velvet, matte lip and I love the finish! I find it difficult to wear coloured lipstick, so this is a perfect alternative for me. It really is a great product which I would definitely recommend trying!

Paul & Joe Eye Gloss Duo: I love Paul & Joe packaging, it is always so sweet! This isn’t a product I would look at in a store… I’m not sure why, I just don’t really gravitate towards eyeshadows in a lip gloss form. This is a nice product and the colours are very flattering. As they are cream, they do tend to crease, but this is expected of this kind of product. This is something I would keep in my handbag as a touch up if I was going out after work.

The Makeup Store lipstick in Drama Creme: Finally, I can try a red lipstick! I would never buy one, but I have always wanted to try one on. It just looks silly on me I think… like I am dressing up in my Mum’s clothes and makeup. The lipstick itself is very nice though and lasts really well! It’s a brand I have always seen but never really been interested in. I will definitely look more into it now as I now know the products are a good quality.

Well that’s all for today. I am off on holiday on Saturday for a week, but will hopefully have some posts scheduled!
